Hot tub worries

My parter surprised me with a wood fired hot tub last week. When we first got it we were in every night for hours (in and out). We didn’t know the risks. I got a call from the clinic this week and started meds for ivf. So worried we’ve blown our chances with it possibly lowering his sperm count.

Hiya lovely, I wouldn't worry. When I first started ivf journey we found out hubby had terrible sperm . I mentioned to two doctor that he had used hot tub whilst on holiday and she laughed at me and said I was being silly to think it would of done that much damage. Also sperm have a 3 month cycle like our eggs so I think the spermies he has now are from 3 months ago? ..I think ?! But I'm sure you'll both be fine. We did icsi and even with his low and very lazy sperm they managed to fertilise most of my eggs!

I would say a bit of relaxation is good for you both! But avoid the tub during 2ww as being too hot can be bad for the embryo xx

I wouldn’t worry too much I think Kath is right it’s from 3 months ago. My husband’s count was really very low and we still had enough good ones to fertilise 9 eggs! Also, there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it so the worry is not helping you. That’s how I try to think when I panic about things. x
