Hi there, it is hard to tell as some people have period like pain (cramping) and some brown discharge. I have seen comments on here of people having discharge and bleeding and gone on to have a baby. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks, I went to the walk in early pregnancy unit and it was confirmed then. Do not alarmed as it could be implantation bleeding. Keep an eye out and if the pain gets worse and bleeding becomes heavy call 111 or your GP. Fingers crossed 🤞🏾 for you.

Did you have light brown discharge? Did you experience any pain? X

Day one started off as light with no cramps. Day 2 cramps got worse and bleeding though light was red, day 3 started passing clots, with more period like bleeding. I normally bleed light anyway so did not fill a pad. Went to the walk in early pregnancy unit on day 3 they did an ultrasound nothing could be seen and bloods.

Fingers crossed it’s nothing serious xx

No not necessarily. It's so early and a lor of women experience discharge in early pregnancy. Contact your Early Pregnsncy Unit. Should be at your local hospital. It's very early but they might be able to offer you a scan. Dont panic yet because it could even be late implantation bleeding

Yes it is, the hospital in your area will have one. Ring your GP and ask how you can get referred - you might need to refer yourself to your local community midwife first. Wishing you all the best xx

I had really bad period pain but no spotting or anything like that! Do you have an early pregnancy unit you can get intouch with or your midwife so they can book a blood test to check your HCG? That’s what I had to have as they scanned me but it was far too early to see anything!

I have everything crossed for you that all is okay🤞🏼❤️X

Thank you so much xxx 🙏

i had cramps and brown discharge in my previous 2 miscarriages that turned to red blood after a few days. I did go in and each time it was confirmed it was a miscarriage but im currently 22weeks pregnant and I had a few occasions where i went in to see the doctor because I had blood pouring down my legs and each time I assumed it was yet again another miscarriage but each time it came back as a threatened miscarriage which stopped at 12weeks.Every time we went in we saw a heartbeat and baby was fine.So it really is difficult to advise you because it could either mean one thing or they other. Sometimes it is considered old blood so they do say it is nothing to worry about. Just try not to stress yourself out to much and take it one day at a time. All you can do is probably go for a check up and express your concerns. Thats the only way you will have piece of mind.

Only god knows what you went through! It is so hard. At this moment the crapms and spotting have stopped but im having a scan in the afternoon, can they see heatbeat at 5weeks?

It really is difficult to see a heartbeat at 5weeks. i was able to see a heartbeat at 6weeks with a transvaginal scan.

Just came back from the us, they said they couldnt see the embryo but the sac was there 🤷‍♀️ whatever that means

in reply toDD2021

i don't think you should be to concerned. Early into the pregnancy it is difficult for them to see the embryo. Did you do a transvaginal scan?
