Small update

My hubby had his FISH (sperm) analysis that showed us pretty good results. Also, the cytogenetic test had been done. They have found CF and we are devastated. I need to have the same test done to find out if this CF is in my blood too. If the result is negative, we'll use his sperm, if positive, we'll have to look for a sperm donor. We didn't expect such an outcome as never thought about having any hereditary diseases. I'm praying all the time. Just don't want to have some other guy to be the father of my baby...

Hey Nickon, oh I'm so sorry to hear that, it is devastating, we also had that news, my husband is a cystic fibrosis gene carrier, its just something you dont even contemplate! I fortunately dont carry the gene so have been able to use his sperm. I hope that your test goes well, and if it does then please dont lose hope, if they are pleased with the results that is a really good starting block xx

Oh, thank you for inspiring words. Next week I'm having my tests and hope that everything will be fine. Please, keep fingers crossed for us.

We are about 2 weeks off egg collection (our 3rd icsi) where we will be using fresh sperm so my husband will have another sperm retrieval on the same day we have his frozen sperm as a backup but with lots of supplements he has been on we are hoping it will make all the difference and just might be the one 🤞 xx

Sorry you’ve not had great news but fingers crossed you’re not a carrier and it won’t affect you moving forward with your treatment 🤞🏻🙏🏻

If you are a carrier, can’t PGD testing be used to check embryos for CF? I’m sure over seen it listed as one of the conditions they can check for. Just a thought Xx

Yes this is what I was going to say. You'd qualify for PGD if you were both carriers. Really hope you get a clear result Nickon.

Thank you, dear. I will definitely find out if PGD can work out for us. My tests are tomorrow and I hope to get results soon as waiting time is killing.

Thanx Kibo. I don't know about PGD. but definitely will ask them. It may be an option
