Next: FET (bit concerned re medication thyroid/estrogen)

Hi.

First of all it was a horrendous few months waiting for the clinics to open. Mental health was really lowest i ever felt in my life..

I got the go to do my FET (only one frostie left) in July. I hope all the other NHS clinics follow xx

All prayers and tips welcome re FET i know there were loads of posts lately.

Also for the girls that have hypothyroidism, i got a leaflet saying i cannot take the progynova (estrogen?) together with my Levothyroxine but doesnt really say how long i should leave in between. Last time thyroid was 1.9 so i cannot afford it to go higher.

Sending love to all.

Hey, I havent been told not to take them together....I take thyroxine for subclinical reasons so Im on a fairly low dose at 50mcg. I think the progynova can stop the thyroxine from being as effective which may increase the TSH and you may need to increase your dose of throxine so it may be something you need to keep on the radar and ask your clinic about if you're on it long term.....for example if you get pregnant and which case you need to raise your dose anyway. Your clinic should be able to keep an eye on things for you if they feel its necessary. Good luck, hope to be joining you on the waggon in July too.xx

Thank you darling for taking the time. Im leaving 1 hour for now in between the pills. Hopefully it doesnt change the levels too much leading up to the transfer. Im on 75 mg so really not looking forward to increasing it ❤️

Hi Mimisami, I also take 50mcg levothyroxine and no one has mentioned that they need to be taken at a different time to prognogova 🤔

Either way, best of luck with this one! Xx

Hey Millbanks thank you. I searched on internet and found little about it. Its just that the leaflet mwntioned. After my CP i just dont want to risk it. Xx all the best lovely xx

Hi Mimisami, good luck with your FET! I am waiting for a call back about my treatment. Have you been told you will need to self-isolate at all before transfer? Xx

in reply toF_J_762301

Hi FJ. Thank you lovely. I hope you will get the call soon. When i called end of May they said ring on July cycle. That cycle never arrived (im irregular) so when i called this week they said come in. If i were you just call every cycle because you never know with cancellations etc. Xx

How exciting - good luck for your FET 😊

Not the same medication but I take ferrous fumarate and that has an effect on levothyroxine so I take them 4 hours apart and from blood tests both seem to be working so may be worth spacing them out a good few hours x

Thank you lovely! So exiting times for you. Just read your profile. Thanks and will leave as much time in between as i can. ❤️

Yeh, I try to leave an hour between thyroxine and progynova. Do keep an eye on your TSH. Any cycle I’ve done it seems to creep up no matter what I do.

Thank you lovely. Ikr? I hope your doing well. Thanks for that. Gp is always very hesitant to do bloods so i need to beg my nhs clinic which they refused last time. This info helps though xx

Mine can be reluctant too. I sometimes do a home test just to make sure it’s not getting out of hand.

in reply toKseye

Hey thanks for mentioning that. Can you please recommend the test you use xxx

I’ve used “let’s get checked” in the past. But I use “medichecks” now as it is cheaper. They send out a pack and you just do a finger prick and send it back.

Thank you! Will keep this as an option xx

Sorry you’ve been feeling so low, this journey is so challenging. So great that you’re going ahead with a FET! I also take levo and just started taking estradiol yesterday for a FET as well. Had similar concerns, contacted my consultant about it who said it was fine to take together? I have to take estradiol 3 x day, 8 hours apart. I take levo and my first estradiol around 7am when I wake up... this ok? Xx

in reply toPeanutchips

Hey lovely thank you for sharing. If your consultant said you can i think he is ok with it. Perhaps your levels are close to perfect and bit fluctuation doesnt matter? I had the advice written on leaflet and my nurses are useless (i swear to god last time when filling in the forma i said is the Zika virus the one with misshaped heads she said i dont know!!)

As many agree here you have to monitor the thyroid anyway so worth keeping an eye on it. Yes i try to take 8 hours apart as well. Wish you all the very best on your Fet xx
