Should I do an early pregnancy scan and when?

We're due for our first scan on the 21st May which by my calculations makes us 11wks3dys. We had a misscarrige at 9wks last year making me so anxious about our first scan and partically going back to that same scan room. I am debating if I should get an early scan and as to when. Week 9 or week 10. My head is all over the place, but only when I think of it. I've been doing well with putting things at the back of my mind and staying positive. But I could do with some advice on this one please xx thanks

Do what would give you the most peace. I’m currently 11 weeks into my first pregnancy and have had 4 scans so far. 1 viability scan at the clinic and 3 i have paid for privately. I’m so anxious and seeing things progressed has helped settle me a little. Ive got a week and a half until my 12 week scan and it feels like the longest wait ever, so i bet the 21st seems like miles away especially with what you’ve been through.

Nobody would judge you, its your body, your baby. Do what you need to do to ease your mind xx

Hi Sunshine92, thank you x I can understand how you are feeling with it been your first pregnancy. Congratulations ❤. I just need to make a decision. I guess a private scan sooner would be best. I will just have to face the fear either way. Thank you xx

If 9 weeks is your milestone I would go between 9 and 10, I think that would give you the most reassurance. Once you've had the scan you will be on cloud 9, but the worry comes back very quickly. The best thing you can do is relax and try to enjoy the pregnancy (which is easier said than done)xx

Hi x I thank you for getting back to my post. I think you're right. I will go more towards wk10. I am definitely enjoying pregnancy more this time around as the symstoms are stronger so it's giving me that a little more reassurance. Thanks again x
