Donor Conception Network

I am just writing this post to ask people what they think if they have ever been member of the Donor Conception Network. I have spoken to a few helpful people on there. But, I have also spoken to a few cranks on their forum and the supposedly local group is really not in my area. It would be interesting to hear about other people's experiences.

Hi , yes i joined and was going to go on the DCN conference but it is cancelled as is my DD treatment . The on line forum is v quiet . Fertility friends has also been helpful. Yes DCN does have some articles i do not find helpful ( particulary American in my case ) which I am learning to accept I dont find helpful or productive. They send out a weekly email with podcasts etc , i haven't been to any meet ups either, if i had successful treatment i would order the books, x

“A few cranks” just made me lol - now I’m intrigued 🤣. We are planning to try next with DE and I was thinking of joining but just not quite got round to it yet x

When I say a few cranks. A women who left a post saying she was living in my area. I contacted her and we exchanged emails because she said she felt is isolated pre locked down and she lived in my area. I found out that she lived miles away from the area I live in. I live in West Midlands. I only spoke to her a few times but but found it odd that she felt isolated and had no one to talk to and yet she was married and a part time teacher. She announced in one email (only spoke a couple times) that she didn't feel isolated. So, I don't know what thats about. Some of them seem like geography isn't a strong point. Another one I spoke to said she lived close to me. She then stated she lived in Milton Keynes!

I never joined it because I found fertility friends forum really helpful when going through treatment (DE) and also the clinic we chose had their own sub thread like most do on there.

It was also handy the fact that our clinic being in Greece ment that we could speak to others using the clinic and that they actually covered abroad to not just the UK clinics.

Even now I still pop on there and out DE twins are 14m I like to offer support to anyone starting on their journey or going through it as it gives hope on the crappest of days.
