Progesterone injections

Hi warriors so I’m still passing clots and bleeding and cramping so still extremely nervous and though I was told baby is ok today I’m terrified. Please hold my bean in your prayers 🙏🏼

Also wanted to ask: my doctor took me off pessaries (utrogestan progesterone tabs) and changed it to progesterone injections 25mg morning and night. Is the deal that they are stronger?? Because it goes in the blood?

He also stopped my baby aspirin (salospir) but now I’m wondering why I was even on it?

We did have sex the night before but was that enough to cause all this bleeding and clots?

It’s just insane.

I’m black and blue from heparin I already take, I feel sick all the time and now more injections. I’m cramping but nauseous and still have to eat as I was told to put on weight today.

I’m so confused and didn’t really get a clear answer as to why this happened but was told to rest completely and try and not move from the bed.

*edited : it was a sub chorionic hematoma bleed between the womb and the placenta

I’ll admit it, I’m feeling a little sorry for myself.

I’m also terrified

Hi, I don't know the answers i am afraid. In regards to having sex i was told that it won't harm the baby at all. The fact that you were bleeding afterwards, that probably would have happened anyway. Hope you are ok! Xx

For most people don’t think it will harm at all and from what my doctor told me yesterday baby is fine (still finding this hard to believe) but I have a history of miscarriages and am on two blood thinners as well 💛

Because the cervix is swollen during pregnancy it can bleed after sex

I know several people who have had really heavy bleeds between 6 and 12 weeks and gone on to have a successful pregnancy, if you are on heparin that will make any bleeding lots worse due to thinning the blood so there’s more of it if you see what I mean

Sending you positive vibes xx

Thank you daisy. This makes sense. I think it’s a combination of the sex and the heparin and the aspirin. They have now stopped both aspirin indefinitely and the heparin for a few days till bleeding stops.

The Drs usually prescribe blood thinners for ladies of a certain age and for some it can help with history of miscarriages however that said it you are bleeding I would think that is why they have taken you off it. It sounds like you are having lubion (its prolutex in Athens), the thought is that it can be more effective if you arent absorbing the pessaries very well and also these can cause the cervix to be a "bit upset". I had a mixture of pessaries although mine were cyclogest and lubion and my levels were good on these. Did they check your progesterone levels? Im not surprised you are terrified after all that you have been through, it very difficult when you've faced losses previously. Look after yourself.xx

Thank you Cinderella. I’m on prolutex. I was taking progesterone tablets but orally. I was on 800 mg a day and now he has taken me off them and told me to take one 25 progesterone injections am and pm for next two weeks till I see him. He is checking progesterone levels now apparently from my blood but has never really believed in checking progesterone as he says it’s results are not exact or clear. Bleeding today has subsided for now and cramping comes and goes but completely stops when I lie down xx

The absorbtion may be better for you with the injections than taking oral utrogestan (go those used to make me so dizzy and spaced out! The injection sites can be quite sore after some time so go slowly when injecting. Hopefully now that they are monitoring your progesterone levels they can check all is ok there. Take care.xx

Thinking of you, Corchi. Hoping everything is okay. Glad you're on injections, but super sucks how painful and bruising they are. I know you would do anything for this little one, but it's hard when you're not sure how the progesterone injections are different to the pessaries. It's not a stupid question and definitely ring up your clinic and ask. It will take them two minutes to allay your worries on that question at least. Really wishing you the best and sending you massive hugs in this stressful and anxious time. LOTS OF LOVE xxx

Thank you tt. It’s so unbearably hard sometimes. I’m trying to focus on the positive but I feel defeated every time something else happens. It’s like going to the moon and back to get a baby but I know everyone here feels that way 🙏🏼💛🥰

Oh yeah, some days it feels like there are many things in this world that would be easier than getting a baby! Try to stay positive, I know it's hard; you're pregnant and you're being looked after. Rest up massively and take care of yourself. Unfortunately, don't know if there's too much more you can do right now. I just wish all of this was a certainty and we didn't have to go through all these worries and anxiety. xxx

Yes I know :-( the waiting is the hardest and now I have to do it with blood and cramps as they are both continuing since Tuesday afternoon when this happened. They got a bit better yesterday and now this morning still when I wipe fresh red blood on toilet paper. 😔

Oh lovely, so sorry you’re having such a worrying time. I was on lubion injections as my body wasn’t absorbing enough from the pessaries and they worked much better for me so hopefully it will do the same for you too. Thinking of you lots xxxx
