Thanks for this Anna. It is a reiteration of what we've been hearing on here for a month+ sadly. 🙁🙁🙁😢
Yes thanks for sharing. I don’t like the mention of ‘if it remains in place for 12 months!’ Praying this won’t be the case
Thanks for sharing. These last few days have been particularly tough as I was supposed to begin my next cycle now. I have to say, I think HFEA could be doing a better job of being transparent. Their updates are so vague - no commitment to when they are reviewing their ban, or when they will have a strategy. They say they are “working on” this which doesn’t install a lot of confidence in expediency. They could take a page from the ASRM which is. A lot more patient centric - they are affirming that infertility care is not elective, they are committing to reassess what constitutes urgent infertility care (ie if diminished ovarian reserve should count), and they’re talking about developing guidance on how to return to normal operations in the face of the pandemic. Importantly they’ve committed to reassess their recommendations every 2 weeks. asrm.org/globalassets/asrm/...
I’m interested in when clinics in areas that peaked before the UK, like Spain, will restart. I haven’t considered going abroad before this but if the HFEA is slow and bureaucratic I don’t think I’ll have a choice.
Hi Peony, I am thinking the same but with closed borders that would be impossible. Not sure when we will be able to travel to the EU. Please keep me updated if you plan a trip as I am thinking the same. Xx
Yes, I’m thinking if the travel opens back up and the HFEA hasn’t made it transparent how / when they’ll lift their ban. My husband isn’t so keen on going abroad though So we’ve decided we’ll only do this if the UK doesn’t open back up in 2020 and other countries have. Will keep you updated, and it would be great to know wha you decide too xx
Thanks honey bunny xx
Thanks for this Anna_88 my stomach is in knots at the thought of having to wait 12months,especially as I turn 43 in Aug,that is not good news
Thanks for sharing. I was hoping it would be back to normal end of May. I am also 43 with almost zero AMH... is that the newspaper just throwing a number of 12 months or are the HFEA seriously thinking of forbidden IVF for 12 months?
I've no idea of course but I can only hope that when lockdown is lifted, businesses will start to open as usual. Are you NHS or private? We are private and our own personal plan of working towards a July egg collection, so getting ourselves ready....again, healthwise and supplement wise after a few weeks blow out after our treatment was sadly cancelled. 12 months is so extreme. I would hope by end of mAy they should be able to start again. We can only keep an eye on the Hfea and what our clinics say. Big hugs xxx
Sending all my love to people struggling at this time my heart goes out you x
I doubt it will be 12 months...they already saying it could be lifted in near future.. so maybe may.. June.. also we will find out Thursday.
Will we find out Thursday? That's good! Where will they be sharing this news? X
It will be on bcc news Thursday they have to legally tell us how long this lock down will last.. so hopefully not 12 Months x
My heart goes out to all the people that’s had there treatment stopped I think it should have carried on for the people who don’t have embryos in storage and them of a certain age it’s such a shame and hopefully everything is back to normal soon 🤞🤞
