New: South West London CCG IVF Policy

Hi All, I just noted that there has been a change to my CCG and 6 boroughs are now falling under a new South West London CCG. They have now changed their IVF policy. On first glance this looks to be for the better with greater access for many. However the point I note with interest is:

“Fertility preservation including freezing eggs and sperm for those undergoing any treatment or condition which might cause infertility, where current policies only make routine provision for those undergoing treatment for cancer.”

This to me reads that egg freezing is now provided for other conditions that may impact fertility (eg perhaps endometriosis).

Does anyone know anything further? I am trying to get a copy of the policy. TIA.

Hi FutureBabyMaybe. Good to read of the changes. If you scroll down the document to section 13.4 it does explain in detail about cryopreservasion of eggs, sperm, embryos and tissue. Diane
