Hi guys would you say with me having low HCG from beginning and heartbeat was as sign that it was going to be a miscarriage or am I wrong? Also would it have been the embryo it's self that produced low HCG meaning. Abnormal embryo has anyone had any experience... Diagnosis in why you had missed miscarriage reasons found etc. Thanks a million love this group you guys are very supportive xx

Hi guys just reflecting on missed misscarrige
Hey, when I had my late positive my clinic's coordinator did tell me that in her experience the chances are I would possibly have either a blighted ovum or miscarriage. I was a bit annoyed at the time as I felt like someone had pissed over my parade of me getting my first positive.😕 I actually had a spontaneous miscarriage in the end at 6 wks due to low progesterone but I guess she was in a way right. It's not a give that low hCG will result in a loss but the chances are certainly higher after researched and reading a few medical papers. My hCG started off late but did rise at the correct rate so we hoped that showed it was just a late implanter. However that said having a good starting hCG is a good thing but anything can happen and there is no one thing that predicts a miscarriage really.xxx
Was you on progesterone when you was pregnant when tested for progesterone? Xxx
Yes I was (2x400mg of cyclogest) and it wasnt enough. However we didnt discover that until my next positive and my levels were only 19nmol/l which is really low.xx
Hi love. With mine everything was all fine right up until the missed miscarriage, so I don't know. For me, the only sign looking back on it was around 10 weeks I remember thinking that my bump didn't seem to be getting any bigger. So if you felt there were signs then I can understand you being worried about them in the future, although I always say to everyone that each cycle is unique and I try and remain positive in all circumstances, I can also understand you trying to find if anyone had any reasons as I was just fobbed off with "embryo must have been abnormal" which isn't helpful.... xx
Hi having been in your situation in regards to misscarrige it’s very easy to slip into investigative mode the real truth is you don’t always get an answer for misscarrige. are you saying you had a low responsive heartbeat ?hcg is simply a pregnancy hormone and for pregnancy to progress it needs to hit a certain level and stay there as far as I’m aware this has nothing to do with the embryo as they are treated as separate entities surely that embryo wouldn’t have been used if they thought it was a bad quality embryo.but that is just my opinion I hope you can give yourself time to heal and grief all the best x
My miscarriage was as a result of full trisomy 9. Hcg wasn't doubling. I saw a strong heartbeat on three separate occasions but it made no difference. The biggest red flag for me was that the foetus was always measuring 5 days behind and my hcg wasn't doubling. My first hcg at 16dp5dt was 1065 (not bad at all), it just didn't double. x
