Feeling low... I think I’ve had 3rd IVF failure

Hi all,

Reaching out for some support. We had 2 embryos put in following our 3rd egg collection and I tested this morning to find nothing. My husband swears he can see a faint line, and you can if you properly screw your eyes and look and it in certain lights but I’m aware that we’re just acting in desperation.

I couldn’t go into work today and feel so bad because I’m a high school teacher and know I’m letting my students down. I’ve had 2 miscarriages after IVF in the past and feel like a broken woman- I can’t handle things going wrong and just don’t know how to keep going with so much failure.

When is your OTD?

in reply to

Today. I told the nurse I could only just see the line and see said that was fine, but I don’t think she understands just how faint it is.

Its so hard, I have had a number of failed rounds and MCs so totally get it. Did she give you any advice? Sending you a huge hug and crossing my fingers it is a late implanter xx

in reply to

Did you eventually have success? Did you ever experience anything like this?

in reply to

I am definitely not the person to speak to, I have had 3 MC, several chemicals and am currently on my 2ww and feeling very negative and miserable due to the progesterone!

I have seen people on here get a faint line and go on to have a successful pregnancy but equally I have seen many faint lines become chemical pregnancies too. I hate that I can't give you an answer. Maybe test again with a different type of test tomorrow morning FMU and see what that brings. I dont think one test can be conclusive. I am so sorry I can't give you clearer advice. Huge hugs xx

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through it. I shouldn’t be asking for support when you’re struggling. You do have hope at the moment though, so hold on to it. I figure it’s a numbers game and if I keep doing it, eventually I’ll get success. It’s weird, I’ve seen loads of people say they feel low on progesterone but I feel low about an hour before it- it’s like I need my fix and then I feel so much better.

Gosh not at all! Figure if I can help other people this isn’t a wasted journey. I’m sorry I don’t have an answer for you... but definitely agree with you about just keep on keeping on - my nurse said that to me recently - you just have to keep going and keep going and one day it will stick xx

Hi Blue_Star-4,

I’m sorry you’re feeling so down. I know how devastating a failed round of IVF, even 3, can be. Is today your OTD?

Sending you a big hug xx

in reply toKiboXX

Yes it is. Have you gone through anything like this?

I’m sorry, I would definitely say though, as there was a hint of a line, however faint, to give it a couple of days just to be sure. I’m sure you’re clinic already told you that though. How many days past transfer are you?

I can completely relate. I’ve had four fresh cycles, first one was a MC then two negatives. Changed clinics, protocols for our fourth and this one has worked so far, I’m almost 11 weeks. Don’t give up. I’m always here if you need to talk xx

in reply toKiboXX

Thanks for being so kind. Do you mind me asking why you changed clinics?

We felt like our old clinic was a bit set in their ways, it wasn’t very personal and we weren’t really learning anything and didn’t feel listened to. Completely different experience at our new clinic, so personal, everything explained. Was a breath of fresh air!x

in reply toKiboXX

Okay, that’s interesting. Thank you. Where in the process are you at the moment?

We did our fourth round with them in November, we got three 5 day embryos frozen from it (never managed any frozen before)as we decided to do PGS testing so no fresh transfer.

We did our first frozen transfer in January, it was successful, I’m currently 11 weeks pregnant x

in reply toKiboXX

I love a success story! Congratulations. I felt so much better when I had frozen transfer- I wonder if it increases your chances?

Thank you 😊

Yeah I couldn’t believe how easy the frozen cycle was! I do think there is a lot to be said for letting your body recover from the stress and drugs of a fresh cycle xx

Nothing anyone can say can take your pain away completely but i think most of us understand and even reading posts like this makes one emotional as most of us know. I struggled with this the past few days. I know a faint line is hope so why not have it for a bit longer? I noticed that sometimes fmu wasnt even the strongest faint line. I did everything from not drinking the night before to 4 tests a day. Super women here even suggested private blood tests as my clinic refuse to put me out of my misery.

I would have been 5 weeks and therefor a chemical.

Work is hard but sometimes its just not possible to do all. U need time sometimes for ur self.

U are not alone and sending you all the love i can digitally ❤️

Thanks for being so kind and supportive. What is FMU?

in reply to

Hi Blue. Fmu is first morning urine x
