Transfer Day 🐣

I feel so scared, exhausted, excited, nervous and everything else.

Yesterday, the embryologist phoned, whilst I was at work, to say all 4 chicks had formed embryos but that was is. There was no incline that any looked as though they would get to the blastocyst stage only 45% of them are likely too. I just asked if it was looking to freeze one and I got back “well 4 isn’t the highest of numbers, and we just need at least one good one. If there’s one to freeze then it’s a bonus but we just want one good one.”

Now I was highly sensitive yesterday so I put the phone down and broke down in my cupboard.

So we are going there today completely blind- time to get ready and get in the car for the long drive down there.

Good luck with your transfer, I hope it goes really well! I understand you want to know more about the embryos you have. Firstly, they would not transfer if they would not think it can stick. So there is at least one good one! Secondly, they might just tell you later about freezing as they might have some embies catching up during the day and they are wanting to wait with grading until you have them all being nice blastocysts. If they called you on day 4 they will not all have been blastocysts anyway, so no grading happening yet apart from day 3 grading. I know this is difficult. I got grades with the phone call on day 5 in the morning and obsessed about quality maybe not being good enough. For the day 3 grading they just told me fast ir good or irregular, so not much I could make of it. Good luck!

Good luck! Agree with Tigr I think we should all try and focus less on grading - there is so often no rhyme nor reason as to whether they stick or not! You are in great shape and soon to be Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise (PUPO) hooray! Good luck for the 2ww xx

4 embryos! Good luck for transfer today. Take no notice of the clinic; I think they forget how sensitive we are to any negativity that comes across from them! Every day is a minefield for updates and emotions. Sending positive vibes for today and wishing you all the best. xxxx

Haha well it’s a little room off my classroom and I hid behind a cabinet door as my kids can see through the glass in the door 😂

Aw I'm glad you have a (weird) safe space at work. I have a similar thing at work when I receive news from the clinic where I walk to the other end of the building and try to find an empty meeting room or a stairwell with noone in it. Kind of sad really.
