Preimplantation genetic testing

Hi everyone so I have done my egg collection and have 9 embryos that reached Day 5 blastocysts and I am waiting for results of PGT due to unexplained (6) miscarriages. I am 40.

I would love to know if anyone has done this and how many came back healthy to understand what is the normal for someone of my age.

I can not sleep or relax and all I can think about is what if they come back all unhealthy?

I have no specific problems other than unexplained miscarriages and my AMH etc is all fine.

Please some words of advice so I can calm down a bit!!

We’re having PGD and out of four blastocysts we had one that was suitable. 9 is a great number so really hope you have some suitable ones!

That’s fantastic! Hope it sticks fingers crossed. Do you mind telling me your age?

in reply toCorchi

I’m early 30s. It failed sadly. Already on next round.

Hi Corchi,

I also decided to go for PGT testing this time around as I had one BFP ending in MC and then two failed cycles after. I’m younger (34) but have a low AMH for my age (9). My hubby also has some motility issues.

I googled the crap out of it trying to prepare myself for what percentage would be normal but couldn’t find anything useful! I think as they’re working with such small numbers 🤷🏼‍♀️ I did prepare myself for none coming back healthy with at least we would at least have an idea of what was going wrong.

We were really lucky, of the three that made it to blasts, all three came back normal. Our doctor did say they were ecstatic in the lab so I think we were super lucky and normally there is a drop off.

Hope that helps in some small way!xx

Is it small

Numbers ? I really thought 9 blastocysts was a good number 😿

Nooooo sorry I didn’t mean that! I meant in general, most people have a small amount of blasts so it’s difficult to find good percentages research on what comes back normal!

9 is absolutely amazing! I think it would be incredibly unlikely you would get none come back normal x

Amazing news!!!! How lovely! Gives hope to the rest of us!!! My first was born naturally and now struggling with second. Did you do fresh or frozen transfer ?

Frozen! I think that’s the only option with PGT testing as it takes a couple of weeks? I did my collection in October then did my transfer in Jan.

Thank you!xx
