FET cycle questions - think my body has gone haywire!

Hello, looking for some advice please on FET cycle. I went in on day 3 of my cycle and got an injection to switch off my cycle. Went back two weeks later for scan to check womb lining but it was still too thick so they sent me home and asked me to come back a week later (which will be this Tuesday). So I'm currently on day 22 of my cycle and have just started bleeding... this is really weird for me as my periods are normally regular. Has this happened to anyone else? What will it mean for this cycle? My periods have gone crazy the past few months (my November bleed lasted for 19 days, December cycle was 42 days, Dec bleed only 3 days, now Jan cycle only 22 days?!). So confused. I'm worried there's another underlying issue messing up my hormones that is being missed by my doctor/clinics.

Hi lmno,

I haven’t been down regulated by a single injection before, only doing the daily buserlin shots at home but it sounds like your body is just taking a bit longer than normal to shut off.

Is this the first bleed you’ve had since having the injection? If so, that’s probably a good thing as it will be getting rid of your thick lining, I always used to have a bleed on Buserlin, think it’s part of the down regulation process!

Give your clinic a call tomorrow but sounds like it’s going in the right direction x

The injection when its used to switch off your cycle usually causes a bleed. From the sounds of your scan when your lining was too thick, this bleed will thin it down and your hormones will be switched off so it doesnt thicken on it's own now....this will be done with meds. All sounds on track!xx

Thanks for your replies. Had scan this morning which showed lining is just about thin enough so I've started on progynova tablets (oh joy!) for next two weeks then back for another scan. I think I maybe just didn't understand what to expect as my last FET cycle they did my initial scan at day 21 whereas this time for some reason they did it on day 3. What a rollercoaster! xx

Yes, mine was always day 21 too but know they can use the beginning of a cycle too! Best of luck, hope the next scan goes well. I start on meds tomorrow!xx
