Suprecur as trigger?

Following my consultation with the founder of my clinic, I'm going to be doing a combination of cycle 1 (long protocol) and cycle 2 (antagonist) meds for cycle 3. As I'm high risk of OHSS she said she might use suprecur as the trigger. Has anyone ever done this as I've only ever used ovitrelle before as my trigger??

She said it's the hcg that causes ohss which is in ovitrelle.

I had 18 eggs first cycle and 13 second cycle. Whilst I'm happy to try anything new I'm scared it's all a bit trial and error given its my last cycle (self funded). She said sperm is really hardy and there is little that can be done to improve sperm like you can with eggs but I dont fully accept this. Despite that I can honestly say I took nothing first cycle and got 18 eggs with 3 to freeze, took EVERYTHING second cycle and got 13 eggs and bugger all to freeze. She said my partner could have a partial blockage following his vasectomy reversal which is count fluctuatates so wildly.

She said I don't need another endo scratch (I Really want one) as she said it's effects last 6 months. Don't Really accept this either given my mmc.

Sorry for the rant, just really scared I wont get pregnant again. She also said there's a 1/4 chance of miscarriage. Guess I was really unlucky last time xx

I had suprecur first time round as trigger and had 10 eggs, 8 fertilised, 4 blastocysts. This time round I'm having ovitrelle though as am on long protocol so am downregging with suprecur.

Hello. I used suprecur for my trigger as high risk of ohss and I was really lucky with my number of eggs and blastocysts. I think it was one of the factors that prevented me from getting ohss, so it worked well for me. I hope it does for you too.

Best wishes x

I have heard hcg exacerbates ohss so maybe try this new trigger.

I would also get the blastocysts pgs tested to rule out chromosomal issues.

Were you on clexane? I passed all my blood clotting tests but after a mmc and two chemicals (one of a pgs normal embryo) I got more thorough blood clotting tests done at St Mary's hospital. Came back positive for TEG and pai-1 so need clexane throughout whole pregnancy and 6 weeks post too. Plus and long haul flights and surgery.

Maybe also look into immunotherapy (intralipids, prednisone etc).

You'll get there missy xx

Hey Jessy, how are you doing lovely? Ive seen a few ladies on here that were at risk of OHSS that have used buserelin (suprecur) for trigger instead of hCG so hopefully they will get back to you with a bit more info! Just wanted to say Ive been thinking about you and wishing you lots of luck with your new protocol.xx

Thank you so much. I've stayed off here for a bit as seeing posts just exacerbated my heartache.

I'm just scared as I don't know how I'll respond to new meds, how many eggs/embryos we'll get etc. I'm not keen to go down to pgs tested route as we get loads of eggs no problem but then not many embryos so I'd use whatever we can get rather than waste a whole cycle if they all came back abnormal.

Why is this journey so hard?! Xx

I completely understand the not wanting to do PGS, Im not a fan either. Our clinic offered this to us as we are doing a fresh cycle next and I feel I would rather put them back and let them have a chance. It is a bloody hard journey Jessy, I cant think of anything Ive tried harder at and still no results! All your anxieties about not getting pregnancy again I would think are normal or they are the same as mine. All we can do is try to do what we can so we have no regrets!! Hugs.xx

Hi Jessy,

I used suprecur to trigger for the same reason. For me it worked perfectly, I got 37 mature eggs and swerved ohss, so I would say go for it even though I know that changes in medication can be scary.

I really hope next round is your time xx

Thanks so much. 37 is amazing!

My AMH last Feb was 45.2 p/mol with my clinic and I've recently bought an at home amh kit and sent it off and they say my AMH is now 92.8?p/mol!!! Either the test is unreliable in some way (although they're right my AMH is high for my age), seems really odd. It's impossible for amh to increase surely?? Xx

Oh wow, yeah I just saw your other post!

It’s not impossible for it to increase a little, I’ve seen the odd post from ladies on here who’s Amh has risen. But as far as I know only by a couple of points. I’d be tempted to retest at the clinic, but 45.2 is great anyway so 🤞🤞🤞. When do you think you’ll start your cycle? Xx

It’s so tough to see a way forward sometimes 😩.

I did antagonist protocol for mine because of the OHSS risk. They ordered me both ovitrelle and suprecur to trigger with and said they’d decide based on how I progressed. Strangely enough they asked me to trigger with both at the same time and I was fine. Not great volumes of eggs but 10 which I was pleased with.

Hope you get some answers x
