I'm currently on third and final cycle. I went for a scan Fri and they told me I have 21 follicles and reduced my meds to just 75ui.
Went for my scan yesterday morning and they've told me I have 19 follicles and a few other small ones they didn't bother to count. Told me ill probably get 13 eggs by EC Friday and at this point they'd only really count the 14mm and upwards. I know I should be grateful but I was hoping for more than 13. Reason being, first cycle I got 18 eggs and 3 to freeze. Second cycle 13 eggs and only 1 made it to day 5. As this is my final cycle I'm desperate for more to freeze.
My question is... Is there any scope for my smaller ones to get up to size by Friday? Bearing in mind I'm only on 75ui (instead of 150ui) and trigger shot yet to go. Anyone have experience of this as I can't really recall my last two cycles. I've tried looking back on my last cycle and it looks like my very last scan did only count up to 14mm and that was pretty accurate by EC. However, yesterday's scan was not my final one. I have one tomorrow morning. Hoping two more days of stims by then will push the smaller ones to grow some more.
This is what I had as of yesterday...

Hi again Jessy. Yes, im just in the 2ww and this happened to me. I had tons of follicles but due to ohss risk they took me for EC a little eaely. They told me they were expecting 7 eggs from the info on my final scan. I had lots of little ones. They actually got 27!! There were lots if immature but they mamaged to inject 15. Try not to worry too much. I broke down in the hospital after the scan and the reassurance from the nurse didnt help but it all worked out in the end. Good luck xx
Thanks for your reply. I've been the opposite. They've kept me going a little longer on lower dose meds. My ec was supposed to be Monday past, then weds and now its Friday. I initially had 11 follicles at my first scan on 150ui and I soon had 21 follicles. I had ohss first cycle so they're trying to avoid that happening again. I'm praying I can bump some more up to 14mm by tomorrow so they'll be mature by Friday. Not sure if that's possible though on such low dose meds. It's such a stressful process. My fear over the number of eggs is purely because we lose so many due to poor sperm quality Inc count and motility. Good luck in your 2ww! Whens Otd? X
I was told that the trigger shot gives them a final blast and loads of mine caught up. Slow and steady seems to be best with eggs. I was so worries i wasnt ready but its worked out well and our embryos were much better quality that last time. We have the same issues as you, the proxeed we think made a hige difference to sperm. We havent had anything to freeze either round but this time we transfered a hatching 5AB. Last time we only had one early blast.
Test day is monday and i am in full throws of crazy 🥴
Good luck, i think we all have hurdles along the way, its just part of the process xx

I meant to say, from my scan showing 7 i triggered the same night and lots of mine caught up. You have even longer. I am still on medication for ohss and have to ring the hospital regularly, praying it stays away xx
Hi love. Can understand being disappointed about numbers not being the same as in previous cycles, but every cycle is different and you may get fewer (or more) follicles this round, but more make it to day 5. Definitely still scope for growth with time and you're still stimming. I've only ever had one to freeze on each of my two fresh cycles and it feels like a lot to go through for not much to freeze! But I'm trying to be grateful to even get to transfer as cycles can get cancelled or no eggs mature or none fertilise etc...... Trying trying trying to be happy getting to transfer, but agreed, I would love love love more to freeze!
hey I totally get where your coming from and it's easy for me to say that it only takes one! we only ended up with 3 from our 21 but we got a bfp from our first (didn't progress) but got a bfp from our second that has. I really hope you get loads that end up fertilising and even if u don't, that this works out for you anyway xxxx
Hey, I was told they can grow 2-4mm a day so I wouldn't lose hope quite yet.
However sometimes if you get less eggs they are actually better quality - I always assume this is because your body can focus on putting more energy into the eggs you have and not be spread so thinly. I dont have medical evidence to support that but in my head it makes some sense, so dont despair quite yet. Good luck xx
