Although I have stopped drinking, what are the recommendations for my partner ? Christmas is a hard time for couples going through IVF especially when your trying to keep it between yourself and your partner.
I know the recommendations is 2 a day for males, however my partner rarely drinks only on occasions which is once every couple weeks... Would this still only be 2 ?

Hi there. The only thing that our doctor suggested to stop doing is smoking (which in our case was not a problem as neighter of us do) and he said that there is no need to quit alcohol. There are proven researches that alcohol might actually help (obviously when taken in normal dosages). I have also done some research and found that wine in particular can actually benefit. Have a little read about the Mediterranean diet, I am starting it right after New Years for 3 months before we start our next round of ICSI. Best of luck for you both xx
Our clinic told us the only thing they would definitely not recommend re drinking is binge drinking so I'm sure your partner will be ok if he has the odd one here and there. lots of luck to you both xx
I’m sure you will get a lot of different answers on this depending on opinions at various clinics. We were told to cut down or cut out alcohol and caffeine. I’m sure occasional drink over Christmas is fine but prob best not to over indulge xx
There is no concrete advice but the suggestion by my consultant is to say within 14 units per week for both of you. How you consume them is up to you but possibly best not to binge drink them in one go!
