So after being told I will need surgery to remove fibroids before I can go ahead with my transfer I’ve now received and read my full report from my MRI scan.
It mentions that I have multiple fibroids in my uterus distorting the endometrial cavity but also distortion of the junctional zone by adenomyosis and focal adenomyoma on the left measuring 1.7 x 1.8 cm. I’ve just been reading about adenomyoma and it doesn’t sound good for IVF chances of success ☹️ has anyone else been diagnosed with this and how did it affect you?
The report also mentions slightly polycystic ovaries and a cyst, I’m starting to feel like I’m a bit of a mess to be honest. Xx

I had 2 fibroids removed prior to getting pregnant due to the sheer size of mine (one was 14.5cms with my dr telling me it’s ok to leave it). There was no way I would have been able to get pregnant with the fibroids in there.
I am 2 weeks off giving birth and I have around 6-8 fibroids in and around my uterus, they tend to start due to the hormones when you get pregnant if you had had them previously. One fibroid is 6cms all the way around however not affecting the bub at all. I had not one fibroid prior to getting pregnant after getting the all clear before starting ivf.
All I can say is get them removed and give your uterus 6 months to heal and then start ivf.
Thanks for your reply and I’m glad you’ve had success 🙂.
I am planning on getting the surgery to remove the fibroids but i’m now worried that my chances still won’t be great with adenomyosis which I hadn’t even heard of before going for this MRI. It just seems to be one thing after another.
Thank you for sharing your experience though and I guess there is still some hope. Lots of luck to you Xx
