There could be a number of reasons for very heavy periods and clots. I had very heavy periods when I was eating too much soya and it’s affected my estrogene levels (not everyone is affected by soya like this). I also had clotting and eventually had lupus anticoagulant detected which causes inappropriate clotting. This appears to be the reason I wasn’t getting pregnant. Only further investigation by your doctor can diagnose something.

Strangely I was wondering about a connection between clots and sticky blood today! I have antiphosphoid too and have had clots periods for some time, especially in the last decade. Was only diagnosed after first failed round of IVF and a few miscarriages unfortunately. Definitely worth a blood test!

Endo can only be diagnosed with a laproscopy

Hi Pumpkins. You need to get this all checked out. The bleeding could be coming from the fibroid, I don' know, but see your GP/specialist for a referral perhaps for a hysteroscopy to get a proper diagnosis. Good luck! Diane

Diane what is hysteroscopy

A hysteroscopy is an investigating where they put a camera in your womb (through your cervix) to have a look around and check for abnormalities such as polyps and fibroids. Usually you’re awake and they say to take paracetamol/ibruprofen. When I had mine it was while I was having an operation so I wasn’t awake. They found a small polyp or fibroid (I cant remember which) and removed it at the same time, and says womb looked healthy and I have a slightly bicornate (heart shaped uterus) but nothing that’s stop me having a baby, so I’m glad they did it. They also had a good look around (laperoscopy) via a few holes in my tummy while I was under general anaesthetic and diagnosed my endo and told me my ovary is stuck to my womb with scarring from endo - it still works though!).

I’d suggest a blood test for lupus and antiphosphoid too just to be sure.

Did you do this at a fertility clinic?

With the hysterscopy if they see any linking egg old tissue can they scrape it off?

If think that’s a typo? If so and if you meant endo tissue, then: Yes they cleaned me up inside as they put it.

Laperoscopy and hysteroscopy for me we’re done by gynaecologist so I don’t know if some clinics do them or not.
