We made it to viability scan... 8+2 😊🥰

This was a personal milestone for us to actually make it to this point as what should have been our viability scan on our last previous cycle swiftly turned into a follow up appointment to discuss further treatment.

I won’t bore you all with another scan picture this week as not much has changed since last weeks one lol...

But I am very pleased to say all is still going well, CR 1.6 (crown to rump)

we got to see and hear the heartbeat this time 161 BPM... Absolutely amazing as I didn’t expect it...🤭😍

Still need to continue with all medications until 12week scan which is 13weeks in my case😖 Hopefully the time flies bye.

*Any advice on breaking the news to an older child?

My daughter is 10 years old and will be 11 in December... we have a very close relationship and she is very clever.

Not sure how much longer I can continue hiding and pulling the wool over her eyes as I feel so guilty lying to her 🤥

Almost feel as though she’s suspicious as she returned from school today telling me she’s the only child in her class of 28 without a sibling 😮👀 🤭

Where has that come from.. out of the blue....

I know she will be soooo happy and over the moon when we do eventually tell her but I do also know how heartbroken she would be if things didn’t work out as planned.

I’m really Not sure what to do for the best?!?! 😩

Yey!! So happy for you 😁💖 Every scan is another milestone and it’s fantastic to get to a heartbeat.

I’ve not been in your position about telling your daughter as don’t have any older children, but suppose I would base my decision on if/ how you feel she would process/cope with it if the worst were to happen. I waited until after my 12 week scan to tell my niece and nephews, but I don’t see them everyday to have to try to hide it 🙈 If you want to tell her then maybe you could say there’s a baby in Mum’s tummy, but it’s very small right now and we have to wait and see if it grows. Be prepared that she might tell the whole school including Teachers though!! 🙈😂

I've been where you are so I know how important it is to get a heartbeat and not a follow up after a MC. Enjoy the moment!

About telling your daughter, I don’t have any children, but a close friend of mine waited until after 12 week and the redults of the harmony test. Luckily she waited because unfortunately the results were not good! Her older children was 7. In the end it's up to you!

Great news! Personally if it was me and I obviously dont have kids I'd wait u til at least the 12 week scan. Tough one but dont feel guilty, you're re not lying.... just keeping it quiet for a little longer!!xx

Hi mushy. Lovely news and a strong heartbeat. My thoughts are that I would wait until the 12/13 weeks scan is done, then you can show his/her sibling a scan that looks like a baby. Hope all continues to progress well for you. Diane

Thankyou guys... I’ve given it some more thought and decided to wait until after the 12week scan... I think it would be so much harder on her to have her hopes built up to only be let down.

it is so difficult though because the bloat is real and she watches me so closely, notices everything and asks lots of questions.. lol and she’s even told me let’s do some exercise 😂
