Consultant has said if we go ahead with ICSI IVF round 3, the only thing we can change is meds. On the highest dose last cycle so that will stay the same but would change to Bemfola
Has anyone taken this instead or switched to this after failed cycles?

Ah ok. I was on Gonal F (long protocol) for 3 cycles, no success. Just had my 4th with a change to Bemfola and Menopur on short protocol and although eggs retrieved was a similar number, everything else was better - higher fertilisation, more top grade blasts.
We did change clinics as well but I do feel like the change of drugs and protocols was what we needed to see different results.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re not feeling positive. Have you considered talking to another clinic? Even if it’s just a consultation to see what a fresh pair of eyes think? It was the best move we could have made, we haven’t done a transfer with them as yet but we’ve gone from having to have 2 day transfers twice due to low numbers to having 3 in the freezer this time around.
If you do decide embryo adoption is the right choice for you though, that’s amazing and I wish you all the luck 💫 x
We’ve been told ours is the best clinic within a reasonable distance (Hewitt Liverpool) as we are in Blackpool
Looking down the adoption route via the council not donor - have looked into that but 18 month wait due to a negative CMV result- had no idea that was an issue xxx
I switched to Bemfola on our 4th time lucky cycle (prev had Meriofert). Not sure if this is what made the difference, as also changed other things (did long protocol instead of short and had extra progesterone support- Lubion injections) but the theory was that it was worth a try as not getting as many eggs or Blasts as we wanted so decided to change things up. Apparently people’s bodies can respond differently to different drugs, so depending on your egg numbers/ embryo quality and no of Blasts from previous cycles it might be worth a go! xx
I tried Bemfola once, that was for my very first cycle as the preferred choice for my hormone levels. Unfortunately my body responded way too good on it, so I got too many eggs, cancelled cycle and a painful OHSS experience on top of it, so for the second I got some other meds. But for you, whose problem has been too low response, I guess Bemfola would be a decent choice! Good luck with whatever decision you make 😘
