Hi Tasha, is this your first cycle? Not long to go until February. I’m getting up and running for cycle no5 of ICSI. Endometrial scratch is next Thursday then starting down reg. Hoping to have embryo transfer at end of January. Have been waiting impatiently to begin and am feeling excited now as it’s finally here!

IVF with ICSI is a little more expensive but the process should be much the same for you and your husband. Sadly we haven’t had a BFP as yet. I have very low ovarian reserve and responded poorly to stims drugs, so after much deliberation we have taken the decision to use donor eggs for our 5th and final attempt.

I’m sure you are feeling nervous, it is quite overwhelming. But as you say it’s nice to know you’re not alone. I’ve only recently used this forum and wish I’d done it four years ago when we first started this journey. Wishing you the very best of luck for the 9th xx

Hi there hope you don’t mind me msging you! I’m in exactly the same situation. I was supposed to start my first ICSI round in December but was told to wait due to xmas... I was completely devastated :(

So can’t wait now to bring in the new year.

Have you tried IVF before?

Xx

Hi Lauren . Im also starting icsi in January with short ptotocol too. I cant wait to get started but so anxious. We are doing icsi due to partners low sperm count.

I feel resigned to it!

As you’ll see from my bio, we have to have our embryos screened this time and hopefully this will make it more likely that we will be successful this time.

We are also doing the pgs testing. It was reccommended to us due to my age and my partners low sperm count. Its very hard to process it all. But please God we will have embryos make it day 5 to get the pgs testing done.

Ours is pgd because we have a known chromosome problem. They will do pgs in our embryos as well but I’m less happy about this as I’ve read it doesn’t improve live birth rates due to the margin of error. But we don’t have the option of having pgd without also having pgs. The fact you are being recommended pgs makes me feel more confident that it might be a good thing.

I’m suspicious that it might all be moot anyway as we only had one embryo get to day 5 last time so it’s not like we are going to have a big selection of embryos to choose from.

Hi I have just booked my third cycle and start injections on the 8th Jan. We have had icsi each time xx

Hi Tasha, We've just finished icsi treatment. We got the news on the 8th Dec that the transfer was successful. Even though it was a positive result we’re very nervously and anxiously waiting on the 1st scan next week. If you have any specific questions I will happily answer them if I can. I won’t deny it’s a bit of a roller coaster as I’m sure many would agree. You will have your good days and your not so good days but with the right support and a positive outlook you will be fine, try not to be nervous 👌 I was very lucky to have a friend who had been through the same treatment in the last year. She was a great support. These forums are also great, believe me you are not on your own. We are all in it together. ❤️

Hi Tash, during the initial fertility tests we found that my partner had zero sperm in his sample. They did a second test and found the same thing. We were devasted. Didn't help that the NHS consultant was very blunt on the day and started talking about donor sperm and adoption as our options which tbh we didn’t want to hear, we were still digesting the news. We were told the waiting list for my partners genetics results would be months (7 months now). We took the difficult decision to go private and found out he is producing sperm but there must be a blockage which is why there is none in his sample. Never give up hope, no matter what one person tells you. Xxx Please keep me updated on how you are doing. Good luck!!
