Hi everyone, can someone help me? Getting crazy now we had our 5 day embryo transfer yesterday and as they told us our embryo was very good quality and today I found out that it was 3CB graded and it means: expanding blastocyst with very few cells and few cells forming a loose apithelium. Anyone has any idea what does it means? is it a good grade or not? does my little miracle have a chance to survive or not? please help me
Embryo Grades: Hi everyone, can someone... - Fertility Network UK
Embryo Grades
I’m not sure of the specifics but I know a lot of ladies on here have had success with lower grade blasts and some top quality ones that didn’t take. So I don’t think it makes a massive difference - try not to worry xxx
The letter they send me says that only the good or average grades can be trasfered so don’t think that it’s too bad but when they are telling you that it’s a top quality and you fined out that it’s not and it’s your only hope, it feels little bit stressful. I really want to think that we will be fine but feel that I’m loosing the faith from the begining now 😢
I had a lower grade ones transferred last weds and everyone has said don’t go off the grading as millbanks said above.... unfortunately if it’s gonna work it will and if it isn’t it won’t, all down to nature!? They are good to make it to day 5 as only 30% ish make it to there so it has a chance xx
Grades really don’t matter...I had a perfect AB embryo and it didn’t work...others have had a BC embryo and it worked...I know it’s hard, but most doctors will say it doesn’t determine the outcome at all ❤️
They don't show success % on embryo grades so dont get hung up on it. It's a blast so it's a chance x
Thanks for lovely comments ladies, feel more relaxed and can’t wait to have blood test to fined out if it worked. Wish you all the best to everyone ❤️ May our dreams come true very very soon ❤️
Hi there,
so 3,4 and 5 is acceptable for success
3 is lower end of scale
You don’t really want a 6 as that’s too mature and usually already hatching which is not as desirable as a 5 which is expanding. Expanding is the closest and safest embryo for successful implantation. 3 is acceptable but usually fragmented and could develop further but might not, 4 is moving in right direction but by day 5 should be a 5
The letters represent inner cell mass and trophectoderm which should ideally be between A-C A better than C
The inner cell mass should be dividing equally (2/4/6 etc) with no little fragments (floating bits) the better the division with the most uniform structure gets a better grade. A is best D is unacceptable
The trophectoderm is essentially the cell exterior/wall which should be equally thick all the way around with no lumpy bits. Again it’s graded A as best.
So ultimately a 5AA is what you want! That doesn’t mean it’s a definite as hormones and maternal biological structure is just as important.
My 4AB didn’t work but my 3BB did?? Hope this helps
