I turned 43 last month ... I have been trying to get onto IVF for the last 2 years but for one reason or another (health things mainly) this has not been possible ...
Looking to hear from any older ladies (where success rates are lower) ... as I am on Day 4 and feeling the need to hear positivity ... 👌🏻😬 xx

Hey!! How are you? I’m 40 and just finished our last round which was our 4th. We have used my own eggs and have just had a positive test! It can be done. It’s a hard journey but the ladies on here are a great help. Are you day 4 of injections or day 4 of 2ww? Xxx
Thank you. It is very early days, only 5 weeks so fingers crossed when I have my viability scan on the 21st every is in the right place and growing nicely🙏.
So you must have your baseline scan sometime this week? You will see your follicles starting to grow!!
My 1st round I had 10 eggs -8 mature and ended with 2 blastocysts
2nd 5 mature and 2 day 5 blastocysts
3rd 4 mature and 2 only got to day 3
4th 6 eggs 5 fertilised 3 made it to great day 3 and had those 3 put back.
I have never had any to freeze thou which is a shame but I suppose you can only do what you can.
My sister in law was 46 and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl 12 weeks ago using her own eggs.
How are you feeling? Have you started to feel bloated? Where are you having your treatment? Xxx
So lovely to touch base with other ladies on this massive journey ... 🤗 ....
Baseline scan was last Friday ... second scan for measuring follicles this week Wednesday .. will be interested to see how big they get.
I don’t feel great to be honest ... definitely bloated .. concentration is shot to bits at work and home .. 🤨 .. super tired.. feel a bit sickly ... and I just know I can’t do as much around the house right now as I was doing before the injections. BUT I’m hoping of course it’s all worth it ... fingers crossed 🤞🏻 House jobs etc can all wait 😉
You have been through so much and had so many eggs !! So happy that you have a BFP now ... keep me posted with it all, you absolutely deserve that.
My friend had 4 years of IVF and finally has a little boy now ... so it’s lovely when it works hey.
Also amazing news for your sister in law... so happy for her.
There are many women like you who is having their treatment for the first time. And you know, you have many chances to have a baby you just need to believe in that. I am almost 40. I have used many options and the latest one that left for me is surrogacy. I have signed my contract abroad and now waiting till they find a surrogate for me. I have had IVF and ICSI but with almost no results(( I had two negatives, one positive but mc. I have no chances to carry a baby by myself so that is why I proceeded with surrogacy. I hope it will work out for me as well as I believe that you will have a positive result too with your treatment. There are plenty of successful stories so faith makes wonders! Believe!
TNX hun!!! WE are amazing))) All of us who is here! And we are really strong because we fight for our future in spite of everything. All our efforts will be blessed sooner or later.
AFM - I can carry a baby because I have surgery in the past which lead to consequences. My AMH is low as well and I can't provide good cells.
Thank you 😊 you might be one of the lucky ones 🤞🏻 it does happen quicker for some. My only thing I would have done differently was either pushed for a hysteroscopy on the NHS sooner or paid privately. Good luck xx
My congratulations dear. It is amazing! A friend of mine has already had 17 cycles and with no results. Can you imagine this? She is so stubborn and doesn't want to listen, anybody, she is just trying and trying, again and again. She doesn't understand that her body has no strength any more after all of these treatments and hormones. But she believes! In a few days, she is having her transfer and I don't know what to say, just supporting her.
Wow, 17!! We were moving on to donor if this didn’t work just due to our age. But if I was 10 years younger I’d have more goes left in my yet! Thankfully at the moment I don’t need to try again 🤞🏻 But not 17. Poor thing! Maybe the medical professionals will convince her to try alternatives methods. X
Wow this is so awesome Noobs. Such a lovely story. Thanks for jumping on for the post and letting me know your great news. We will continue to try naturally too .... Amazing xx
I had fertility reflexology after my failed round. Whilst I can’t prove that helped, it certainly relaxed me and made me calmer. It’s worth a try! Got everything crossed for you!xx
I’m in Scotland but I’m sure there will be some in your area. My therapist is amazing. It was good to chat through everything with her and I still go for normal reflexology now. They can tell a lot about your health from your 🦶. Even if you can’t find a fertility practitioners it’s still amazing for your wellbeing and a great de-stresser. Xx
Hi Noobs. Saw an old post of yours where you mention going to a fertility reflexologist in Scotland. Might I ask who, and where? Scotland based too and thinking of having one last throw of the dice! Thanks so much
The practitioner is in Fife but I’m happy to let you know if you’re still interested. Obviously I can’t say that definitely helped me fall pregnant but the relaxation side of reflexology is amazing so worth a try.
I turned 42 in July and am currently 7 weeks with a frozen embryo from my first cycle (when I was 40). I had surgery for endometriosis last November and gave myself time to recover before going ahead with another FET.
Hi, i turned 41 in October, and was lucky enough to get pregnant after my first round, I’m now 27 weeks. Wish you all the luck in the world, miracles do happen xx
I turned 43 on 12th jan and start my first try at ivf on Monday! Kind of terrified as feeling very old all of a sudden so it's great to "meet" other people going through the same thing at the same age, especially also for the 1st time. Will keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well for you and hope I can cope with all the hormones!! 💪😊
