Firstly I know I have said it before but honestly I cannot thank you ladies enough. Thought it was best for me to have some time away from the forum but all your kind words meant soo much at that awful time.

I had my follow up appointment following on Friday 23rd August. He actually made us feel better a bit about everything. He said it wasn't anything we had done and wasn't anything that could have been prevented. He said 99.9% of pregnancy that end in early miscarriage it is due to the chromosomes meaning there was an something wrong with the baby. He said that out of the 5 embryos that was frozen there is a 40% chance that 3 of them will have something wrong with the chromosomes. But for example the other 2 might not all end up in miscarriage they might just not implant. He said this is because the embryo that was implanted this time was strong enough to implant but then had something wrong where as normally the embryo wouldn't implant at all. He said although us having a miscarriage is awful it isnt all bad because couples who have had a positive pregnancy test despite whether the baby made it to term or not then it means couples are statistically more likely to have a successful pregnancy. He told us to have a few months off before we try again. He told us that the pregnancy and hormones might kick start my periods naturally (because I don't usually ovulate because of my PCOS). Therefore he said if I have a period in September and October than plan to the Transfer in November. If I don't have a period on my own then to wait until beginning of October to phone the clinic and tell them that I will be starting the pill for a month to start my protocol during my period in November. He advised me to go to counselling which I have booked in end of next week.

I went to see my G.P today though I've had such a bad headache and occasionally dizziness as well as being exhausted since the miscarriage. He wasn't very sympathetic (I thought I would be alright but as soon as I knew I had to say it out loud to someone new it set me off again) but he's done my bloods so just got to wait for them results.

Wishing you all the very best, it sounds like you’ve got a really fab consultant there who can reassure you and help you focus on your next steps.

You consultant sounds fab, very brave to go through all that. I hope you guys recover I the next couple of months to start again. I was similar after my miscarriage and put myself on liquid iron like Floradix/Spatone as I was feel really dizzy and exhausted as my iron and b12 were a bit low.

Wishing you all the best XX

Hey girl. Isn't this an awesome group?? I don't even live in the UK And I'll post something and get a ton of advice and support. Something about talking about Infertility with those who get it is really helpful.

I also just had a miscarriage. It was my second one unfortunately and im also still waiting for my period so it sounds like we're in the same boat. I am so sorry for your loss and I hope you get another bfp soon.

Hey jade am pleased u had a good follow up appointment after ur devastating news. Good for things to be clearer. Sounds good you have a plan to and can try allow urself to recover bit by bit each day. Def give self time too physically and emotionally as I was surprised too at how much physically especially it knocked me. One consultant said that your body goes through a trauma so not surprising u feeling that way. Time and comforting things may help. Take good care xx
