IVF tips for success?

Hello there

My husband and I are about to embark on our first go on IVF and to be honest I don’t really know what to expect. We are just going along with it at the moment and not really thinking too much into it but I’ve started to wonder if there is anything we can do to improve our chances of success? I see a lot of info about acupuncture but not sure if it’s viable? Does anyone have any tips or is it truly just pure luck!?

some tips are as follows: eat healthy (or as healthy as you can given the stress levels), get sweaty a few times a week (increase blood flow to your lady bits!), meditate !!! (you'll need it), prenatals (like its a full time job), probiotics, and have some fun. Don't stress so hard (i know its easier said than done), but stress really screws with all of our functions so try to accept what the universe is giving you and realize that you will have what you want in due time!

Thanks for your response! I have seen some app that’s mindfulness for ivf so I might try that. At the moment I’m not stressed as I’ve already set myself up for failure (such a pessimist) but that will probably change! I’m dreading the egg collection as I’m not very good with medical procedures!

Hi i have ivf in Greece and i would say try not to get stressed and my doctor in Greece told me thats one of the biggest issues with Ivf so i would play white noise or thunder storms at night and it helped me my little girl is 6 weeks and i still play them for both of us x hop this helps

Wow congratulations! Can I ask what clinic you used? We are looking at ivf abroad if this doesn’t work! I think the most stressful part for me is egg collection as I get very anxious about medical procedures and after all the prodding and things shoved up me during this journey I get very nervous now! 😂

I've personally not tried acupuncture but other people like it as it helps them relax. I would say try and eat healthy and look after your body and take vitamins like folic acid and vitamin D. Try not to let it take over your life (I know that is easier said than done!), have fun and spend quality time with your husband.

I know you said in a post below that you get very anxious about the procedures and egg collection but try and relax about it. In my experience (after having 2 egg collections) it's not that bad. I've never felt any discomfort during or afterwards and the nurses and doctors and are all really good at explaining everything to you step by step. I've always thought that no matter what I have to go through it will be worth it to have a beautiful baby, but also it's probably nothing compared to actually giving birth so they are just preparing us for that lol!

Wishing you the best of luck

xx

Thanks for your reply! Totally agree that if it gets me our baby then I’ll go through it over and over! My drugs are being delivered next week so the reality is kicking in now. I’ll just try and relax and let whatever will happen, happen.
