Hi. This will be our 3rd attempt at iui. Round one with Clomid didn’t work. Round two I had cliomid and menopur and overstimulated so it was cancelled and we were told to try naturally, resulted in chemical pregnancy. Now we are back to clomid and heading for overstimulation again??! Has anyone else experienced this??

Getting nowhere with IUI
Not experienced the overstimulation on clomid, but did try IUI. I admit with hindsight I wish we had just gone straight into IVF based on success rates and relative cost (we are having to self fund all privately). IUI failed as did two clomid only cycles. Fell pregnant naturally on a 2 month break before IVF but that ended in a missed miscarriage. Took a 6 month break to deal with all of that. Then did IVF and it was successful first time but unfortunately ended in another missed miscarriage - a couple of weeks further on.
Just preparing for what tests I can do to see if any other issues and then go again.
Good luck, but honestly whilst IVF is more invasive and involved and requires more drugs etc i personally found it not as bad as expecting. And the injections (which in my head was what IVF was all about) was actually a relatively short part of the overall process. Given the difference in success rates and the ability to control cycles better under IVF it may be something to consider.
Good luck

Sorry for what you’ve been through already! I want to say keep positive....but I knows it’s so hard. Sounds like you have a plan though so that’s good, keep going!
Just back from the hospital and they are going to go ahead, some of the follicles hadn’t grown. You are absolutely right though, if no luck this time we will be pushing To move on to IVF. It’s taken us 8 months to get to this stage so just want to move on after this.
Let us know how you get on with the extra tests.
