Hi all

I have been coming on this site for a long time reading all your posts and scouting for information! Now after a long old NHS wait we are 26 days into Synarel sniffing and 5days in to 375iu Gonal F injections.

I’ve had lots of headaches, mood swings and hot flushes throughout but... oh my! I am so achey and weak from the injections! My poor DH is running out to buy chocolate at every chance.

Thing is, my first scan is in a couple days and I’d like to know when I’m in there if we’re on track? What should I be hearing if bloods and scan are ‘normal?’ I know we are all different, but ball park, if they start talking to me about follicles what should I be listening out for?!

Welcome to the rollercoaster! Sounds like you are doing really well so far!

My clinic give you a post it and a pen to write down the sizes of the follicles.. so at my place you hear ‘right ovary... 6, 8 etc’ and it’s how many mm they are. I think all clinics are different though. Good luck! xx

Good luck with your treatment! Yes listen for them saying what size your follicles are, each scan they should be growing so each time you go hopefully you’ll hear better measurements ☺️ If they’re not at the stage they’re hoping for they may increase your meds.

At my clinic they’re plotted on to an excel sheet from the scanner & on my final scan they let me take a photo of it so I could see how they’d developed, was amazing really. Xx

Hi there. I bet you’re feeling that. That’s a high dose to be on straight off the bat. I was on 250 and now 300. You should get a high yield with that much stimulation. They’ll be able to alter anything after scan and bloods. Follicle count varies so much! From 2 to 30+ They won’t collect til they’re between 15mm and 24mm so depending on how quickly you’ve responded to the stims you’ll either be injecting for 8 days or up to 14. Last round of IVf I did egg collection on day 13 of my cycle so I’m imagining same again for me so probably Saturday which will be day 12 or Monday on day 14. You stop injections 36 hours before collection and take a trigger shot. Good luck!! Xox
