Medication costs

Hey all

Does anyone know where if anywhere I can buy the ivf medication from? As my clinic seems to think they are the cheapest around but I’ve heard boots or Lloyd’s pharmacy do them cheaper?

and do they provide needles and sharps boxes?

Can anyone suggest anywhere please?

Thanks

Hi, I work in Lloyds and if you let me know the name of medication I can get the price for you and yes we do provide Sharps boxes although never seen them given without prescription. Is this a private prescription you have? Or looking to buy these meds without as they may be POM (prescription only medication) x

Asda are meant to be very good although havent used them myself!xx

Please note, these medicines cannot be returned. We were never told and had a huge problem. I am really glad you are checking in few places before buying.

I had this experience in Lloyds Pharmacy. Please check wherever you buy.

Best wishes

I would try asking for a quote from Asda to see how it compares, as I've heard Asda has committed to supplying IVF medicines at cost, with no mark-up. Some medicines come in pre-filled injections and others need needles & syringes - your clinic should either be including these on your prescription or be providing you with an injection kit that contains the needles, syringes and a sharps box.

I ordered mine through my clinic and they used a company called Stork. Couldn't fault them. Got a comparative quote from fertility2u as they had come recommended but they were only a bit cheaper so stuck with my clinic for ease.

Have also heard Asda are good xx

I got mine through Asda and they were brilliant and cheaper than Stork which is what my clinic uses. They wouldn’t give me needles or sharps boxes but my clinic did that. X

I used Stork too. Was going to go with Asda but my clinic charge £75 to give you a private prescription if you don’t use Stork and that made the price about the same when I factored it in. Plus I had a bit of anxiety about Asda not providing needles and decided it wasn’t worth the hassle x

Do you need a prescription with stork or can I call and order? X
