For all those who have been through pregnancy ohss, I am wondering, I am on day 11 of it now since my BFP, and last 3 days I have lost a little weight (200g, then 100g then 300g this AM) does this mean ohss is likely subsiding, or is there a chance I could start gaining again??
Doctors have scanned me, and told me its self limiting, but pregnancy can make it worse, but since I am losing, although very slowly is that a positive things are going to ease up?
Thanks for any and all replies ❤❤

It probably is reversing. If I remember correctly, my late onset OHSS started to easy off about a week to ten days after my BFP. Keep drinking 3 litres of water a day and eat extra protein and salt, and you’ll be back to your normal-albeit-pregnant self soon!
Thankyou, that is somewhat a relief. I have been so worried I am going to get bigger and explode haha hopefully everythong kicks in and keeps ridding of this fluid, so I can get some relief from the dreaded bloat 😫
I was still in some pain for what felt like weeks. During my viability scan (8 weeks) they saw that my right ovary was still quite enlarged and I was it lots of discomfort (urinating hurt and stairs were a nightmare). It had gone by the 12 week scan but it can stay for the whole pregnancy.
Pain wise I am doing ok, it has subsided a lot and I can manage it with panadol rapid now instead of codeine. I have got a lot of fluid on my tummy, and are 20cm amd 6kg up in size in 11 days. But I have had little losses amd hoping the fluid is leaving, and perhaps I am going to start getting relief from this bloat soon.
Night time sleeping is harder, as I am most uncomfortable, but honestly barely sleep causs I am up going to the toilet most of the night!!!!
Grateful to be blessed with our miracle, but very much have forgotten what its like to be comfortable 🤷♀️
Gosh I remember feeling like I was going to pop. I wanted to stick a pin into my rib cage to let the air out!!! I looked 7 months pregnant for a few weeks. At my viability scan the bloat had mostly gone, although ovaries were still a bit large but felt much better.
Thankyou, to be honest just reading stories where it actually has ended gives me hope. One day at a time at this point, hoping to also deflate over the next couple of weeks! Thankyou for your reply xx
Hi everyone, I have been in hospital this week too with late onset OHSS. I am 11dp5dt. Due to take our test tomorrow but the hospital has already told me I'm pregnant from my bloods.
I have 2 litres of free fluid in my abdomen and ovaries measuring about 66m, I too feel I am about to pop. Only managed to go for a walk around the block today! I'm struggling to eat protein as poor appetite and just craving salty plain foods.
Do you have any tips that helped ease it please? I have felt so terrible that it's taken the joy out of being told we are pregnant and all I'm doing is panicking that this is somehow affecting things!
I am sorry you too are going through this aswell. I am now 14 days into my ohss and only the last few days it has eased and I am able to do more.
I find keep your fluids up as much as possible, I would start my day with 500ml of Gatorade, then make sure I drank plenty of water during the day.
I also try to walk as much as possible, and the first week was the hardest but I tried to do small bits here and there and increase as I could.
Just know that it does eventually reverse. I am slowly losing the cms and the weight I gained, but it is slow. I jist listeb to my body and rest when I need it, but try keep up and moving.
I too have been worried aboutmy baby, but I have been assured that the OHSS won't effect the baby. I havehad 2 blood tests, and my hcg is rising appropriately, I am yet to see bub on a scan (I am only 5 weeks now)
