Hi everybody

Maybe I’m overthinking but I’m passing my 2ww crasy time and it could be normal to get alittle bit crazy at this time😉! My OTD will be on friday and on sonday morning Im flying from Sweden to Manchester to visit my best friend for a few days! My firend said that there is a body scanner in Manchester airport which is quite different from the other airports! If I get my BFP by then could it be dangerous to the embryo? I did a mamography on my last pregnancy which ended up with a MC and Im still blaming myself for that coz I didnt know Im pregnant! Shall I cancel my flight or..?!

I googled alittle bit and it is written that it is safe but wanted to know your opinions which r so important to me!

Thank u so much for taking your time!

Found quite a helpful article below which you may have already read - it states that they do NOT use x-rays which is what your mammography does. It also says that you can opt out. I say go and enjoy your holiday. Good luck for Friday!!xxxx

Thank u so much! Yes As it says it could be quite safe to go through but Im just too worried about everything! If I get a BFP it’ll be 19days till Sunday!

I wanted to cancel my flight but my friend were tearing me up! So I think I’ll go there! All the best to u too! xxxx

Well it looks like you can refuse it and have a hand search if necessary so hopefully that the case and you can have your mind put at rest. The reassuring thing for me on the link is that they dont use radiation. Yes do go and see your best friend, it will probably do you the world of good!!xx

Yes,I thought so as well! However I hate hand search but worth to try!

I think if I get a bfn I would need her so much!(she is an old friend from my childhood)so I planned to buy 2bottles of jins at the airport to celebrate the bfn though😂! Xxxxx

I was there last week and told them I didn't want to go through the scanner, the manager came (who was also pregnant) and told me that she goes through 2/3 times a day. However, I still didn't feel happy about, so she said I could opt out by filling out a form and going for a private search.

Then, when I got to my connecting airport I was rushing for my flight and had no option but to go under the scanners. I m sure it is fine though!
