Iui with donor sperm

Hi there,

Myself and my wife have been on the waiting list for iui with use of a sperm donor, has anyone out there been in the same boat and have an idea on how long we will wait for a donor we have been told a different timings from different people at the hospital and don’t know what to think can anyone please help it’s driving us mad!!

Hi Taytay. Not an easy one to answer I'm afraid. Some clinics have sperm stored, others have to wait. Game of patience I'm afraid. Keep in touch with the clinic to see how much longer you have to wait. Hope all goes well for you both when the day comes. Diane

We did IUI with donor sperm.

Are you on the NHS waiting list for sperm?

I’m not sure how long that takes as we bought ours, there’s no waiting list for that. Hope you move up the list soon 🤞 x

Hi.

Yes we are on the nhs list. We were told a year and then a week later told 18 months as there is a national shortage and it would be that even if we paid for it. Thank you hope your journey is going well x

If you pay direct to the sperm bank, it's pretty quick (4weeks I think). It's not cheap though £950 a pop.
