So I’ve had the call from the nurse who said they’re going to wait until day 5 to do the transfer because they’re all growing nicely. She said the quality is medium ok to nice and when I asked about freezing she said only 1 in five couples get to freeze. Will two days make a major difference to get the eggs from medium to top quality
Egg quality :): So I’ve had the call... - Fertility Network UK
Egg quality :)
Usually at each step in this journey you can lose a few unfortunately so it is true that only some lucky couples have embryos to freeze. Its hard to say what may happen between day 3 and day 5 but the fact that they are taking you to a day 5 transfer must mean that they're all developing around the same rate and hey're looking for the best one to transfer so they want to wait and see the front runner so to speak. Good luck for transfer, hope it all goes smoothly.xx
Yeah I was really hoping it would be on Saturday so that’s a start I just have all my fingers and toes crossed that at least two will make it 🥰 thanks hun xx
Do they only freeze top quality ones
They only freeze strong blastocysts that are likely to survive the thaw if required in future and even then there is no guarantee that they will survive....its just they have better odds!xx
Aw thank you you’ve explained it really well, I hate asking the nurses loads of questions cause I feel like they’re probably fed up of saying the same thing over and over 😂
No problem, that's what we are here for....if we know the answer! I pestered my clinic something terrible so dont worry about it, that's what they are there for. I used to have lists of questions and my husband was always mortified!! Ha ha ha xx
