Hi All. I’ve been asked to participate in a study in my FET cycle where they look at the impact of using Cetrotide (to stop ovulation) in addition to other drugs pre-transfer. The clinic said some clinics do and some don’t use it presently. I’m wondering if it’s commonplace not to use it or do most places use it. Quick poll:

Cetrotide is an antagonist and is used if there are no natural cycles to suppress. The alternative is Buselerin which is an agonist and acts in a slightly different way. It has to be taken for longer than cetrotide Buselerin is the gold standard and has been used for over 20 years. Is the aim of the study to see if cetrotide is as effective?
Some centres use cetrotide to suppress ovulation (as well) whereas others don’t use it at all apparently. The study is to look at whether it’s necessary as well - there’s not been a study in to that. thefertilitypartnership.com...

No I didn’t have it. The progynova on its own was enough to stop me growing a follicle. I would be asking about any potential side effects/benefits/risks before agreeing to have this drug.
Ps my clinic said they saw no difference in success rates between fets with down regulation and without, but I think they use buserelin if they do down regulate.
I had fyremadel (probably not spelt right!) which is supposed to be the same as cetrotide which I had on my fresh cycle. I had the same side effects! X
We used cetrotide with our fresh cycles and buserelin with our FETs. Is cetrotide not safe? Or not tested enough?
I've used cetrotide for both my cycles, which were both fresh with the option for freezing if I had enough developed embryos (which I didn't for my last cycle).
We used cetrotide alongside Metiofert for FET. Unsuccessful first ivf x
Hi, yes I used Cetrotide for FET (e-freeze study) for 7 days alongside progynova tablets. The injections need patience (mix a powder and solution) but I didn't have any side effects. First cycle BFN but more frosties to try next month. I think my clinic has changed from Cetrotide to another injection but not sure which.
