Had my second ovarian scan today. Egg collection planned for Tuesday. But there's definitely a polyp in my womb so means we cant put embryos back in.
And to add to that they think I'm over stimulating now so trigger etc has to adjusted to try and reduce the risks of that..
Nothing is simple on this journey.. Gutted our embryos won't be going back in now 😢

I’m so sorry to hear about your polyp and delay. I can relate entirely to that disapppintment and frustration as you’ve noted on my post. I’m a few weeks ahead of you and would say it is the right decision to stop and freeze if you’re overstimulated/at risk as OHSS was extremely unpleasant and would be so much worse if pregnant. I also chatted with my clinic about whether I could implant without removing polyp but they strongly advised removal.
I’d like to know what the plan is for you and if you’re given the same advice on timescales re polypectomy etc. Seems to me they don’t know much about the whole thing and the plans are often guesswork. Perhaps we can be in touch after you’re through the egg collection? You’ll need to focus on getting through that stage and keeping well before worrying too much about what comes next.
Sending positive thoughts for you and hoping your EC runs smoothly. X
Yes will definitely let you know what they tell me.. I tried to question a lot about tit today but he said well talk about the polyp after EC on Tuesday. So hope I'll know more then.
How long have you been told to expect delays? And if you don't mind me asking are you having your polpy privately removed or through the NHS?
I know your right I really should be focusing on the EC but I'm just totally focused on the polpy delaying things today.
So I’m on the NHS waiting list but also looking at private. My clinic said they thought it would be about £1500/2000. I’m going to get a proper quote from the private hosp and ask about waiting times. My NHS doc said I need to wait 3 bleeds post OHSS before having the polypectomy to be recovered enough for surgery so I’d like to ask if private chap agrees with that. It just feels like another delay.
Keeping my fingers crossed for a great EC for you tomorrow. Xx
3 bleeds seems like a long delay doesn't it 😣. I'm having my cycle in a private clinic so I'll quiz and question them today and let you know what information they give me.. Thanks xo
I was found to have a polyp just before we started our cycle and although they said it wasn't in a position where it would prevent pregnancy, it was attached to a blood supply so needed removing. My operation was cancelled four times as my gynae wanted to do it himself, I think more because he hadn't found any reason as to why we weren't getting pregnant after all our tests. However after 2 months I was getting frustrated and really wanted to start treatment and he finally allowed one of his colleagues to do it, so I went in for the operation and after coming round it was revealed the little blighter had obviously gotten bored and had gone on it's own. Very annoying but worth having removed if it improves the chances on your cycle. All the best xx
Really sorry to hear this, its so disappointing when the unexpected occurs and throws you off. On the plus side, at least you can resolve the issue and give yourself a better chance of getting a positive result x
