Small triumph!

In preparation for my next round, I did a full work up to check my nutrient status, risk of diabetes, thyroid etc. One of the things I was most interested in was the TSH level (and associated free T3 and T4), as I’ve long suspected I’m slightly hypothyroid. The TSH result came back at 2.8, which is classed as “normal” - however it needs to be under 2.5 for conception and pregnancy. Suspecting it might be difficult to get prescribed treatment for this, I asked my clinic to write a letter explaining that there is a greater risk of failed implantation or miscarriage if it’s greater than 2.5, and brought that along to the doctor. She was absolutely fine to prescribe me the minimal dose of thyroxine, so I should hopefully get my levels within normal range in time for our next round. Doesn’t seem like much but as I’d already been investigating private doctors and was expecting a bit of a battle, I’m feeling really chuffed about this! I would definitely recommend getting your levels checked and doing the same as me if it’s high. I’ll never know if this has been the reason for our failed treatments and chemical pregnancy last year.

Hi hoping-for-the-best. Well done! I'm a great believer in balancing hormone levels. Might have been the reason for past failures - who knows! Fingers crossed with hopefully trying again. Diane

No I didn’t get those tested, is that likely to be an issue if I’m only over a little bit? X
