I have a similar problem like yours. My first IVF cycle failed and left tube was clipped. In my second cycle, the eggs were not growing even after taking the injections for follicle growth. So, they abandoned my second cycle. I am taking DHEA now to improve with my egg count. When I went for a scan after taking DHEA for 5 weeks, the doctor was surprised to see 6 eggs. Because, before taking DHEA the doctor said they could not see any antral follicles. Currently started with my third IVF cycle. Hoping all goes well. I feel DHEA helped with egg count. For me, from nothing to 6 is a big improvement :). You could check with your doctor about DHEA and take it. I ordered mine from biovea.net website.
I am not sure how much I am helping you with all these details. If your egg count is not improving, please try DHEA after checking with your doctor. Be positive.
Hi YoustinaWa. Not a bad idea to have the laparoscopy to hopefully "tidy up" and endometriosis befor proceeding with IVF. With regards tousing DHEA as mentioned by "L4680", . Women with reduced ovarian reserve who have been given 75 mgs of this drug a day, in divided doses of 25 mgs 3 times a day for around 2 months, have sometimes been found to respond better to stimulation during IVF. Some consultants will offer treatment with DHEA. You would need to ask and discuss this thoroughly with your consultant to see if he/she agrees with it and also regarding the potential side effects, which are similar to using steroids. Some recommend trying it, some don't, you would have to see. A 41 year old lady I spoke with recently who has had treatment with DHEA after several failed attempts at IVF/ICSI, has recently had 8 eggs retrieved after apparently only ever managing 2-3 per cycle. She used it for 2 months. Hope that helps and good luck! Diane
