I haven’t posted in a few years when we last went through our 2nd go at IVF which resulted in a miscarriage.
Can anyone answer this question for me?
My husband and I have had two goes at IVF in Scotland a few years ago and wondering as your allowed to have 3 attempts would we be allowed to have that ?
Or is it the fast we are not new patients we wouldnt be allowed.
Thanks for any replies xxx

I live in Edinburgh. I was referred before the change of attempts raised to 3 and as I was already referred am still only entitled to 2 but that may change from clinic to clinic. Good luck xx
I think it really depends on the clinic you visit. Therefore, you would have to ask them if they are willing to go for the 3rd cycle. Although I would suggest before doing this to make sure they are experienced and know how to carry the process out. For IVF an experienced doctor can really make a difference. Good luck to you. I hope things go well for you. Sending baby dust your way. Just stay positive and strong.
I'm in Glasgow and when I started the process in 2008 it was 3 attempts. It sounds to me like you should be entitled to a 3rd go. Just not sure how it works in terms of waiting list - are you back to the back of the queue again? Defo worth while asking. Can you contact the place you had your last cycle directly? Good luck x x
Hey, we were in the Dundee area and it was only newly referred patients that were allowed a third attempt. We had a friend in the same situation as you and they werent allowed the third one as their original referral was when it was only 2. I would however check with them, always worth an ask.xx
