Collection - 2 follicles

Morning

Anyone on here who has been successful after collecting only 2 follicles?

This is our third round, last time they managed to collect 6, only 4 were mature and only 2 fertilised. 1 was finally transferred. Looks like we only have 2 to work with this time.

There’s a lady on here who had one follicle; one egg which fertilised and was transfered and she has her bfp.

Hi there,

Just wanted to wish you the absolute best of luck. I had 3 follicles but what I thought was my best hope turned out to be a cyst. So we collected 2. One of those was our little girl, born in November at 37 weeks. I've read a few other ladies on here who also got lucky with 2, it does happen! Keeping my fingers crossed for you X

Yes, 2 is a great number! Better good quality then quantity as my consultant said! Good luck and stay positive!!!

Thank you both for the positivity, however they didn't collect anything today, feel so low.

They collected 6 last time, with 4 being mature which was our best outcome. This round they changed my medication and collected nothing, really wish I'd been kept on merrianol x

I’m sorry it didn’t work this time. It’s a learning curve. I didn’t respond the way most people do, so I understand the doctors changing things up. It’s gut wrenching. My last round was my best, but resulted in a bfn with a couple frozen. Rounds 1-7 I got between 1 and 2 eggs. Rounds 2-5 were swapped to IUI because of it. Round 6 they decided to check the egg quality as I only had 1 egg and that’s my daughter. Round 7 resulted in 2 eggs and a bfn. Round 8 I got 7! They used an old fashioned IVF drug, mixed in DHEA 3x per day. When he checked he said, “I don’t believe it, these are not the ovaries I’m used to seeing.” He’d never seen me with more than 2 follicles.

We really want to put the eggs back in, but as we self funded 7 rounds ourselves, funds are completely depleted! And it’s been really hard to save lately.

I had only 1 egg my 6th go. The embryo was put back on day 2. She’s now a crazy little girl that refuses to sleep and enjoys all kinds of mischief!
