Today is day 2 after egg collection. I’ve had 11 eggs collected but only 3 have fertilised and survived which is quite upsetting. I’m feeling like calling back today to check on those 3 if they survived another night as nearest info will be on Monday morning 😕
I know it not about the quantity but quality but still...

Hey hun I know your upset but those 3 could be all you need! They could all turn into perfect blasts! 🤞i dont think calling them would make a difference as they dont check them on day 2 as the more they disturb their environment the worse off they will be. Unless you used embryoscope which takes a picture every hour I think it is. Try not to be disappointed I know it's hard. Hope your wee embies are growing nice and strong 💪💪🤞🐣🐣 xxx
Try to hold out. Try to go do something nice today like lunch and a walk to keep you busy. Think of them as at the babysitters and wait for the call tomorrow.
Don't think anyone answers the phone on the weekend at our clinic only have nurse support on a mobile for emergencies.
Hey!! Hang in there. We just need one:). And you got 3!! Fingers crossed they are healthy and growing. It’s sunday funday. Try and relax I know it’s hard but be kind to you self!
I second the 'it only takes one' philosophy, as I'm living proof: I had 9 eggs collected, 4 were mature enough to fertilize, 3 made it to day 3 and 2 made it to day 5, of which only one was high quality. I'm now 15 weeks pregnant with that one! So don't feel down about your numbers, as long as you get to transfer one, the cycle has been a success.
Plus...I have read time and time again that whilst many egg ivf collections are in high numbers, it is very usual for only a few in any collection to be high quality enough to make it to blasto stage. Simulation is an entirely unnatural process, so it stands to reason that not every egg will be a perfect quality one. This is why they wait and watch until day five now - to ensure the best possible one is transferred. The wonders of modern science! Best of luck xx
Dear Lemona, I had 9 eggs collected and 3 embryos survived. My first cycle of IVF was successful and We have a beautiful baby boy. We have 2 frozen embryos too! Sending positive and healing energy to your way. Miracles do happen xx
