Hello lovelies! Hope you are all keeping well π
So with my upcoming FET this month, just waiting on AF....I am obviously going Google crazy and have read up every single thing on Google regarding day 6 blasts lol especially day 6 5bb blasts π€£π I just cant help myself dont even know how many hours of reading I've done lol. Anyways came across this study (hope I'm allowed to post this here) that basically says day 6 frozen blasts have exact same outcome of day 5 blasts - Yay! Even though my doctor has said day 6 blast have slightly less of a chance than day 5 blast by 10%. So my 5day blasts (both BFN) were given a 40% chance and my day 6s 30%. But I'm just gonna forget she said that and believe this article instead lol!! I wish I could stop googling but I am now a Google junkie! ππ
Anyhoo for anyone with day 6 blasts have a read gave me a little more hope π€π€π€π
We all google when we shouldnβt but once I find a good post I stop googling that particular thing - end the search on a high note otherwise youβll keep googling until you find something to put you back on a downer.
Remember, my 5bb is currently 12+2 and hopefully (ππ»π€π»ππ»π€π») still going strong xx
I know it's stupid and I shouldnt but I cant help myself! Lol ππ
Yes I know I keep thinking of you as I remember your wee nugget was a 5bb! But yours was a day 5... hate how my doctor had to put a downer on it. I also think of you as I know only FETs have worked for you so I'm praying it could be my ticket too! π€π€ππ I'm soooo happy for you I had a feeling it was your time! π And your past the most scariest part past the 12 week mark...its your time. yay! πππππ xxx
Well, hopefully I am.. ππ» MB was fine at 10+4 but that seems a long time ago now.. Weβll find out Wednesday for sure as we have our dating scan ππ»π€π»ππ»
Well not to worry hun I'm sure all is fine and baby is growing stronger everyday! πͺ
I will look forward to your update! πππ xxx
Thank you I really hope so too! π€π€ππ
I had 4x day 5 and 2x day 6. My clinic don't even give grades. I believe my now status of 18 weeks this morning is from one of my day 6. Wishing you all the best xxx
Oh is he or she a day 6 wonderful!! I'm so glad you got your BFP wow it's been that long already! Where does the time go. So glad and that wee peanut is growing nice and strong πͺπ xxx
I did also read a few studies about grading. One where they say it's like a beauty parade and really down to each embrologist - making grading subjective (unless you do karotyping), and another article where a clinic in America found no difference in success from different grades so they were no longer doing it. As we all know clinics survive on their success rates, do it must be pretty compelling evidence to allow them to make that bold move.
Maybe that's one of the reasons why our clinic didn't grade too. They told me they are either good or not, and beyond that they don't give a grade.
Oh yes I've read alot about all that too...Google crazy π€£ππ i have read so much about how many grade c embryos have become babies. My clinic wont even freeze anything under a B which in my mind is wrong, but being publicly funded (NHS for you ladies) I dont even have a choice! Nor do I have a choice of how many embies to put back can only be 1! Like why throw away those cc embies why cant I give them a chance? But like you say it's all about those success rates and i guess they too scared to have their numbers drop. I wonder if it's different for people who pay themselves, in my opinion you should be given a choice. Xxx
No different if you pay yourself at all. I have been through NHS, and 2 private clinics. Who knows what they will do in the future, this whole area is still really new with a lot of unknowns I guess.
Oh well that sucks. But yes your right I'm sure they are constantly learning. Let's hope this whole process is a bit easier for the next generation huh π€π€
Ok ok I wont Google anymore....today π€£π€£ cant make any promises about tomorrow tho π€£ππ xxx
I read this too, my blast was day 5 on a Sunday and I missed their call so on the Monday after speaking to me they froze it on day 6. They didnβt think it would make it to day 4! Let alone day 6 Xx
Oh wow that's amazing! Well yes my thoughts are how do they know it may have turned into a blast later on day 5 after they've looked at them? so could have actually been a blast late day 5. I'm going to make myself believe that and not listen to my doctor with her negativity π€£π€£ππ congrats on your recent BFP! πππ xxx
Oh no I'm so sorry, but I swore I seen a post a week or 2 ago about a faint positive? Oh gosh I'm so sorry if I got it wrong. That must of been so hard for you I'm sorry xx
That's so great you have a frostie waiting for you for when you are ready, I myself took a break from IVF for a few months after my 2nd failed transfer in October, i just needed a break. Sometimes it's just all too consuming so it was nice to forget about it for a couple months. All the best for your frostie! Xxx
Oh I see, yes still no sign of period so u never know. Iβve not tested again (since pink dye) - Iβll give it a week and if my period comes I will look forward to FET. Xx
I just reread your last post and turns out pink dye was negative. Bugger. Well fingers crossed your period doesnt come! But yes your frostie is there waiting for you π xxx
Oh that's great! Will you just transfer 1?? I have 2 embies but I'm only allowed to transfer 1. Which I think I prefer as in my mind I have 2 chances. Oh I wish I wouldn't get caught up on the grades etc....cant help myself! ππ I will be starting prognyova when af arrives...she is due on the 12th, but that witch likes to do her own thing when I'm waiting for her π€£π thank you wishing you loads of luck too, will look out for your updates! π xxx
Ha ha ha woman after my own heart....I'msuch a Google addict, my husband jokes I'm on my phone so much that I'm having an affair....with Google!π I've heard good stats for 6 dayers....You've still got a great chance!!π€xxx
I'm hopeless! Told camillage I wont Google anymore tonight...just read some random ladies blog about her day 6 4bb twins! πππ gosh its 10 past midnight in New Zealand I really should be asleep lol arrrgh.
Thanks lovely xx Yes I've read (lots π€£) of good things about day 6ers myself so my doc can shove it with her negativity π€£π€£π xxx
I also had 2 day 5 Frosties and a day 6 frostie. My day 6 frostie was also 5bb and my 2 day 5 ones were worse gradings (canβt remember exact grades but one was a 2 and one was a 3 and they were a mixture of b and c) but officially classed as better quality because they were day 5, so they were used first. My first 5 day frostie ended in a chemical pregnancy and my second ended in a BFN. When I was having the second one done the clinic kept trying to convince me to have the day 6 one done at the same time in case it didnβt defrost and I was left with no final transfer. I stuck to my guns and said no as I didnβt want to risk twins. When it came to my day 6 transfer I was obviously nervous and whilst it did defrost they told me that some of the cells had died off during the defrosting process (Iβd never been told that before) and the grading had reduced to a 4bb, whereas my 2 day 5 embryos had improved their grading after defrosting. So I went into my 2ww feeling pretty negative about the whole thing. Well, I got my BFP and my due date was yesterday so it just goes to show that those little day 6 embies are just as strong as day 5 ones. Good luck with your transfer. I hope this is your time!
Oh wow!! This is amazing thanks so much for sharing with me!! Yipeeee a grade 5bb just like mine! Why do doctors have to be negative, I know ok be realistic but I really dont think there is that much of a difference between a day 5 and a day 6 as long as it's done as a FET. wow huge congrats to you! Is this your first? And do you mind me asking if uljr having a boy or a girl? I really wouldn't mind either way at all I've just done some reading (wayyyyyy too much reading π€£π€£) that sometimes girls are slower to develop and alot turn out to be day 6s? Again congrats I hope your wee bundle arrives soon! π£π£ππ and thanks for sharing this gave me a little more hope π€π€ xxx
Thanks. Iβm similar to you with all the reading - sometimes itβs good and other times just provides loads of scare stories! I do feel like it enabled me to have more sensible conversations with my clinic though. This is actually my second BFP. I got lucky and my fresh transfer on the same cycle that gave me my Frosties was successful and I got a little boy from that who will be 3 in May. I also read that girls develop slower than boys and I was absolutely convinced that this one was going to be a girl but no, Iβm having another boy. But I definitely read that statistically day 6s are more likely to be girls. Doctors really can be so negative. I actually asked to transfer my day 6 frostie first as I knew that it was a better grade but they talked me out of it! Just goes to show that sometimes you need to listen to your instincts! Keep us all updated with how you get on x
Hehe damn Google drives us all bloody mad doesnt it! But hey I've learned alot aswell from it. Oh ok interesting it's a boy!! Well congrats I would love a wee boy π yes bloody doctors cant believe they talked you down too! Would have saved you some heartache for sure. Well I actually have 2 day 6 embies ones a 5bb the other a 4bb. So yes they are just average but from what I've read most babies are b or bb babies anyways...my clinic wont freeze anything with a c in it. Which I think is stupid as I've read many baby have been born with c embies. And I think we should be given a choice anyways after all they are our embryos! But i guess clinics like to keep their stats up...sad. I wonder how many much wanted babies have been destroyed π so yes I am so very lucky I had 2 to freeze this time, yes they are day 6 and yes b embryos but they have every chance! Thank you and yes I will definatley keep everyone updated and I hope you will share your wee boys pic when he arrives! Hope you have a fast and as easy as can be delivery π xxx
