Is anyone else at Homerton or have experience of fertility treatments at Homerton?
I'd really like to speak to someone privately about their experience there.
So in October last year we finally got to see a fertility specialist through the nhs. Cannot explain how long it felt to get there. We were then told that after all of our tests and bloods etc and my PCOS that we would be put on the waiting list for ivf in June 2019.
We were given a total of 4 appointments and the final one being a meeting with a fertility nurse.
I'm terrified I'm excited we also don't know what to expect. It's overwhelming and it feels like it will take forever to get to June.
Also looking for any advice on how to prepare for ivf.
Thanks 😊

This is perfect because you have a solid few months to prepare! Egg quality can increase in 3 months if you do the right things.
Read the book “It Starts With the Egg.”
Make sure both you and partner take fertility supplements (yes the man too!) and also take CoQ10 (ubiquinol). Eat well, reduce (or cut out) starchy foods like white pasta etc, limit alcohol (or cut it out) and keep healthy. Looks of broccoli for antioxidants. Don’t wrap food in plastic and don’t use perfume or nail polish.
All sounds mad, but makes sense once you read into it. I am preparing for a second IVF cycle in February and doing all these things as recommended on this forum. As someone said to me, use this time to get into the best shape of your life!
Also, don’t ignore the emotional cost. I just went into IVF upbeat without thinking that it would fail. I just assumed I would be pregnant because the stats were on my side. The first cycle devastated me. Always have a plan b, if the first cycle doesn’t go well start planning for the second. Keep talking to friends and family. IVF can really put a strain on relationships so ask NHS what kind of counselling they offer if you need it. Keep talking and supporting each other.
It is really important to think of this as a journey - for some people the journey is short, for others it is longer.
