Frozen embryos and FET

After suffering with mild OHSS, we had to do a freeze all. But so chuffed we managed to freeze our embryos!

Ready to start our FET in a couple of cycles time.

Any advice on whether to do a natural or medicated transfer?

Same thing. I was disappointed at first not to plough straight on but actually I think it worked out for the best as had time to get back to 100% and I was feeling really good before the frozen transfer. Got my period very quickly after the egg retrieval (5days!) so decided to wait another cycle as still felt awful!

We did medicated as it's easier for the clinic to control and it's been fine - started estradiol on 2nd day of cycle and progesterone on about day 12 after ultrasounds to check the lining. Bit spotty and bad tempered from the progesterone and feel like I could eat a horse but that's it.

The extra waiting is hard with FET, but it's much easier on your body. Best of luck with yours - we're testing on Fri from our first one xxx

Yes I think it’s a blessing in disguise as I’m still not quite myself yet.

Trying to work out what will be best for me as didn’t react well to the other drugs.

Good luck for your test day 🤞x

I've only done a medicated FET so I can't compare the two. But what I can say is the FET process seemed relatively straightforward compared with the egg collection. I felt much stronger in myself and felt much less emotional/stressed. Hopefully whichever you choose will do the trick. Good luck! Xxx

I'm 23 weeks pregnant from a natural FET. No drugs at all just synced the transfer with my cycle. Was so nice after all the medical things and injections of the fresh IVF transfer. If you have a regular cycle I think it's safe to trust that your body and nature will take over. Also depends on how many embryos you have, some people don't like to risk the natural cycle if you don't have so many. (we had 2 and if the natural cycle didn't work, I'd probably have opted for a medicated with the final transfer.) Best of luck with what ever you decide! x

Hiya, I'm 10 weeks pregnant from a natural FET with no meds at all and was quite easy and glad I don't have any meds to take! I did try the natural cycle 2 months after my freeze all cycle and I didn't have an LH surge or ovulate(didn't even have a dominant follicle when they scanned me) so if you do choose a natural be aware your body might take a while to recover from the OHSS, as this threw me back a bit, but even though I'm happy I kept on with the plan for a natural xxxx
