It is quite intense pain, I've got quite a high pain tolerance and I usually just sort of bite down and grit my teeth but I did actually cry out it did hurt. It lasts like 5ish minutes but it feels like longer I won't lie. HOWEVER, as soon as they stop 'tampering' with you, it immediately goes to this deep ache and that is very bearable. Probably liken it to a very intense period pain ache. Mine lasted (as an ache) for about 2 days. I was still able to function, I went to work but was very grumpy. I'd say if you're being put under you'll be unaware of the worst of it and once you come back out from the anesthetic you'll only have to worry about the ache? So I think you'll be fine :) Definitely have some pain relief on hand (I think you're allowed ibuprofen but maybe ask them as I can't remember). Best of luck sweetheart xxx

I was actually more groggy and felt sick from the GA than anything else and a bit disorientated (kept trying to pull off my oxygen mask) then I realised I was fairly sore/crampy but the recovery nurses were quick to ask how I was feeling and I said "sore". They gave me painkillers intravenously and the pain quickly disappeared. I went up to recovery and had to have some lunch before they sent me on my way after seeing the consultant maybe a couple of hours tops. Can honestly say I didnt feel any pain after that and went walking down to the beautiful marina at Flisvos and didnt take anymore painkillers after. Im sure you'll be fine, I didnt know what to expect but it wasnt that bad even if it sounds it! Im not sure if Blondyboo still comes on here and Hidden but hopefully they can provide some feedback too! xx

Maybe should have mentioned I had mine done in a different clinic than you and the others so after effects similar but although by the sounds of @tamtam I was well looked after with towels etc and my nurses/Drs/Porters spoke very good English.xx

Thanks Cinders 😊 think I’m going to get the hubby to bring some food with him so I’ll have something to nibble on as I’m a girl that needs a brekkie and if I try to go without it makes me feel sick! So going to ask them for anti sickness drug as I always throw up without it!

When will you be in Athens? Xx

Ha ha ha yes good plan as you'll need to be fasted for surgery! We're not ou there until the end of the month so still a couple of weeks to go yet. Hope you have a nice time even if you are having surgery, its a huge city....far bigger than I imagined but has some nice places to hang out and relax! Good luck.xx

Hey baby2016

I have had this as you know. And it was more scary as I was away from home and medical staff didn’t communicate in English he came in checked some details said he was going to put me to sleep and then I work up in recovery.

Was left for a while bleeding didn’t even give me a sanitarium towel but I got up and cleaned up the. Estate another few hours waiting for them to discharge me even though they had the paper work for ages, no one spoke or saw me again until I went back to the clinic.

Bleeding stopped almost after a few hours but still had to wear a Tena lady one of the slim ones, took a few painkillers more paracetamol it was like a dull period pain and abdominal ache for a few hours was tired from GA.

Next day back as clinic they said all was well, sadly the cuts didn’t work for our transfers but this is a game of roulette works for some but not others....

Wishing you well hun take a book u will need it xx

Not bad hun just getting in with life and making a decision if final number 8 is the right thing at a different clinic.

Fear and scaredness is making me questions myself.

Have a safe trip and rest up after procedure x

Aw bless you! What a hard decision to make. Go with whatever your gut feeling tells you re clinic.

I completely understand why you feel the way you do, I would look at is as, in 5yrs time if you decide not to do it now, would you regret it?

If money is not an issue, then go with what you feel deep inside.

Me and hubby have said if after our 3 cycle DE package, if that does not work, we may consider one cycle abroad with the money we would get back from the package deal, or just call it quits, only time will tell what we decide, but for now I feel we have made the right decision carrying on, and if we decide not to continue further down the line I know we can then accept it better knowing we had tried everything we could.

Sending lots of love xx

Hi I had this and we really believed it’s what made our 3rd go with DE work.

I found the whole experience no problem at all. Yes I bled a bit after but not for long (about 12 hours) and no pain maybe a very slight period pain? It really was a much better experience than I was expecting! X

Thank you for this reply! Did you go again on your next cycle, or did you wait?

I bled for the first day, then nothing for 2 days and ever since I’ve had heavy spotting 🤔 no pain. Don’t think I’ll have a period this month now (due next Friday) as feel like the last week of spotting will be cancel out my period. It’s got heavier in the last couple of days, but still not what I’d call my usual AF!

So good to read a positive success after this procedure 😃😃xx

And if you don’t mind me asking what meds did they advise for your successful cycle? The clinic there have advised me to tell my clinic to up my clexane strength and to start on aspirin. Were you on aspirin? I’ve had so many conflicting views on aspirin! One clinic telling me to take it, one telling me not too, and one telling me to take it only from a positive test 🤷🏻‍♀️ my heads spinning with what to do for the best! Think we used the same clinic in Athens 😊xx
