Help!! Have I messed up my trigger?

In a panic about my trigger! It’s my first cycle and I was really nervous to get the trigger right. We read the instructions and it said to make sure not to inject in to a vein, to pull back the plunger slightly after injection to check for blood. We did this and there’s was no blood so we went ahead and injected the trigger. When we pulled it out I noticed a tiny bit of blood in the syringe. Does this mean we hit a vein? Is our whole cycle now ruined? Please someone talk me down, I’m in a mess here!

Sometimes a drop of blood comes out after injections. Nothing to worry about I would say

Good luck with egg collection X

I also sometimes had a drop of blood after injections, and never a problem. I think you just hit a tiny vessel, but just stay calm, the hormone is in your body and will do the job :-) I tell myself, if I hit a vessel, it will be distributed even faster ;-)

Good luck xx

This has calmed me down a lot. You’re right... it’s in, that’s the main thing!

It's so annoying when the instructions leaflet says something different to what the nurses said - like this isn't scary enough for us already! I asked about the drawing up thing and the nurse said not to worry about doing that. Anyway as everyone else has said I'm sure it will all be fine.

Hope you can enjoy a break from injections tomorrow and good luck for egg collection! xx

Yes, that’s what sent me in to a panic because the nurses never mentioned it. I’ve calmed down now, really looking forward to a day off injections tomorrow. Although I do have to start progesterone pessaries so that’s a bummer (pun completely intended) x

Hi Kitcat

Don’t worry about it the same thing happened to me all the time. Most probably a blood vessel beneath the skin. If it was a vein you’d be soaked!!

I was an absolute mess after my trigger as thought I'd messed it up. Had to ring the emergence line. It was all fine though and I now have an 11 week old beautiful baby. All the very best for the rest of your cycle, hope it works out for you xx
