I’m on day 6 of Menopur and am experiencing really bad lower back pain. Is this normal? It’s weird because until Thursday I had no side effects at all and now I’m struggling to switch off from things and enjoy the day because I’m so uncomfortable. Just want reassurance that this is normal.
Thanks everyone and enjoy the weekend xx

Is this the stimulating medication? If so then I would say it sounds similar to the symptoms I got during that stage. I believe it’s just your ovaries growing. I found a hot water bottle and paracetamol helped ease the pain. And lots of water xx
I had some pretty intense side effects from Menopur, including lower back ache from day 3/4, I did find it eased off after about 7/8 days, as the clinic reduced my dose. What dose are you taking? x
I’m on 300 ml menopur daily and from today also the other stim injection that’s done in the morning. Have my scan Tuesday to see if they’re doing the job.
What was your original dose? Did the reduced dose allow you to get to EC?
Sounds familiar! I was on 300 too, which was reduced to 225 at my second scan because of there being loads of follicles. I’ve stayed on 225 since, which is nice because it’s only 1 injection instead of 2. EC is on Tuesday, which is a relief as I feel gigantic and swollen! You having any other side effects? I had terrible headaches!
Oh wow, good luck for Tuesday! How are you feeling about it?
Apart from back pain, a bit of bloating and tiredness I’m feeling alright really. I’m lying awake now though as I was so tired from a morning out i had an afternoon nap but now I’m awake when I need to sleep 🙄 xx
Same!!! My sleep patterns are all over the place. I’m feeling excited, apprehensive and definitely overthinking/over googling everything to do with the process. It’s all just so overwhelming isn’t it?! Wish I could fast forward 3 weeks and know what the outcome is going to be x
I know and it’s not like we can switch off because our bodies are constantly reacting to the hormones! My partner says ‘just don’t think about it’ but that such a man’s response. He’s snoring away next to me right now 😂
Yes, first time for us so it’s all new. My partner is amazingly supportive but I feel like it’s really hard for them to understand how it feels physically/emotionally to go through all this. Just got to remember that it will all be worth it in the end! Mine too is snoring away quite happily 😂🙈
