Hair dye and forthcoming fet

Hello,

Apologies for asking this, I know it's a silly question but I was just wondering what your thoughts are on having hair highlights 2 weeks before a fet. Am I being sensible, over cautious or downright silly! This will be our third transfer and I don't want to jeopardise anything. All the very best to you all and thank you for being there, you have helped me In ways you'll never know! X

I actually have not heard anything medically about this but on my transfer I didn't dye my hair just in case. It's not silly, we're always so scared in case we do something to hinder our chance.

Thank you for your reply, felt foolish asking it but you're right we don't want to risk anything hindering our chances xxx

I’ve always dyed my hair in the lead up to cycles, I try and plan it to be done before so I don’t need to get it done around transfer or during the tww. Never be afraid to ask anything, we all need re assurance xx

Thank you so much for your reassurance and kind words, means a lot! Xxx

I don’t think it’ll do any harm at all it’s not like it’s during the 2ww.

I think it’s important to treat yourself! This journey is hard enough without depriving yourself.

Ultimately your decision do whatever feels right for you & if you think you might blame yourself if it didn’t work ( not saying it wouldn’t) then don’t do it.

Wishing you success FET hope it’s your time ✨🤞🏻 😘

Thank you very much Jess, do want to treat myself it's been a tough few months after our chemical and all the immunology tests that have followed it but we've finally been given the go ahead again, at times we never thought we'd get there again! just don't want to do anything wrong this time, really hard decision to make silly really as it's only hair! All the best to you xx.

Aww bless I’m sorry to hear of your chemical pregnancy, been there.

Our fertility doctor said a beautiful thing about our loss “ through the dark cloud the silver lining is that you did conceive and this is positive.”

I am pregnant again I am 5 weeks 5 days & to say just because you had a chemical pregnancy doesn’t mean you will again.

It will happen for you keep believing ✨🌈❤️ xoxo

Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot! What a lovely thing for your fertility doctor to say and wonderful news on your pregnancy. We are just so happy at the moment, these immunology tests have been so worrying for us, have to keep pinching myself that we are getting another chance at it! All the best to you xxx

It’s a personal choice. I chose to dye my hair and my son is perfect in every way. One time it was a natural conception, this time it was via IVM and I tested positive today xx

I think you’ll be fine doing it beforehand. I checked with my hairdresser when I wondered the same thing and she said it’s just in the first trimester you need to be careful with what you’re using. I had my highlights done just before frozen embryo transfer and then have continued to have them done every 6 weeks since my transfer worked and baby seems fine xxx

I had my hair dyed the day before my fet then had it done again as soon as I was 12 weeks pregnant. It was fine.
