Not long now! - EC finally booked in

Hi!

Just had the first lot of scans after the gonal f- omg, I think we're in business (20 follicles on the right, all currently at 12mm and 9 on the left that are about the same) starting cetratide on Wednesday and EC is confirmed for Monday. It's been such a long wait to get here, can't believe that EC is finally happening... so nervous.

I've never had anything medically interesting happen to me before, quite nervous about being knocked out (even if it is to hopefully get knocked up!)

I know that's probably the least of my worries, but argh! What was everyone elses experience of EC like? xxxxx

That's good news. I had ec last Wednesday, I was sedated and slept through the whole procedure. They collected 15 eggs. I had a bit of discomfort for a few days afterwards and was quite bloated but had transfer this morning so now officially on my 2WW

Thats reassuring! I've taken a day off work after the op, so hopefully all will be ok! I think it's more just nerves as I've never been to hospital for any kind of procedure before, so probs just a silly fear of the unknown!

Aah! 2WW is exciting! Do you have any special plans or treats for yourself lined up? If not you totally should!!! x Hope everything goes well, lots of love (and luck!!!!!) x

I was exactly the same I'd never had a procedure in hospital and was so nervous and scared on the day especially worries they the sedation wouldn't work but one minute I was talking about the liquid in my arm and the next they were waking me up. Good luck for Monday and thanks for your kind words just hoping the next 2 weeks fly by. I've been signed off so will hopefully go on a few cinema trips and days out xx

Yes as tugsgirl said I won't tell you about my first egg collection! Lol. But thus time they are getting an anethetist in so hopefully I will be out to it this time and not be awake. So ask for the most drugs possible! But it really is over quite quickly and you'll be fine 😁All the best hope they get lots of nice mature eggs! 😘😘😘

Haha oh they promised me like 20 times the first time you will be fine won't feel a thing...i said i have a really high tolerance to any drug,.,even right before my doctor (who is female) put my line in for my drugs said "nicole even I've had an egg collection I didn't remember a thing and neither will you" hahaha silly woman I told her so!! Make sure they sort you out next time cause 1 time going through that fully awake is enough! Xxx
