Just wondered..those who have had bfp- how many rounds did you have before you got that? Just wondering what’s ‘normal’..?

How many rounds?
Hey! I hope your ok.... I don’t mean to sound rude/horrible but there really is no normal its just sheer luck. You can have 1 round and get your bfp 2 rounds and it goes on. The best thing you can do is prepare mentally and physically and take each day as it comes . Goodluck for your journey xx
Round two I got my bfp x this can differ sooo much person to person as everyone’s circumstances can be so incredibly different, I really don’t think there is a normal average.
Unfortunately there isn’t a normal, I’ve had a BFP on rounds 1 & 4 both ending in mmc, rounds 2 & 3 both unsuccessful. Currently just got a BFP from round 5 and waiting for my viability scan. I believe now it’s just down to luck and some women are luckier than others with how quickly it works x
As others have said, there is no normal. Our very good consultant said the stats are you have a more than 50% chance on 3 cycles, but that's an average that ignores what the individual reason is for infertility, he also said that's for getting pregnant which is not the same for live birth.
Stats and dr google are your worst enemies with this, my only advice as an IVF veteran is to make a plan , how many cycles you can have, afford, and stick to it and don't give up hope.
xx
I don't think there is a normal. On my first round got BFP sadly it ended in mm and on my fet got BFP again that sadly ended in mm on my third go now so we will see. Good luck with the rest of your 2ww. Xx
I agree with the other ladies, I don’t think there is a normal and it largely depends on the reason for your infertility in the first place. I have heard said that on average it takes 3 rounds but obviously that means that some ladies will fall faster and some will need more than that. If maths is your thing then it’s also worth looking at your clinic’s stats and doing some probability over multiple rounds (1- the probability that every round fails). E.g. if your clinic’s success rate is 30% then the probability of it working after 1 round is 30%, after 2 rounds 51%, after 3 rounds 66% etc. Most clinics publish headline stats but do have underlying stats by age/condition that you are able to access to give you a more accurate feel for their success rates which might apply to you.
For me (hubby with some problems and me with PCO (questionable mild PCOS)), I had a fresh cycle and got 4 viable embryos. I was one of the lucky ones who got a BFP on my first fresh transfer. I then started to try for no. 2 using FETs and had a chemical and a BFN before getting my second BFP using my last frostie. My sister (officially unexplained but again PCO with questionable mild PCOS) had a fresh cycle and got 2 top grade embryos. The fresh round failed but she is currently pregnant from her only frostie. Everyone really is different. Good luck with everything.
I got my positive after two failed iuis and two failed ivfs. My fet worked for me. It all depends on luck and timing x
Pregnant on round 3 of ivf with one in the freezer. Previous two rounds both bfn and nothing to freeze
Good luck xx
We were lucky enough to get BFP in the first round (ICSI) (Unexplained infertility) with a little girl. Just turned 35 at the time. There are still 5 or 6 frozen embryos, so next stop is FET and fingers crossed! Good luck to you on this emotional journey!
