Egg collection has been scheduled for 27th August for my egg donor and so ET should be on 1st Sept for me. This is my first round using DEs and just wanted to hear from ladies with DE experience. What’s the average success rate and how many rounds did it take you to fall pregnant? My donor is 28 years old and has a 5 year old herself.

1st round bfn, 2nd first ever bfp but anembryonic, 3rd round bfp is snoring in his cot right now xx

Well it took 7 years the last time. I think we would try once (we have two frosted left) but I don't want to get to the emotional and mental point I was before. I have a wee Angus to think about. Although it would be lovely for him to have a sibling 😊

Biggest tip I would give is to do everything you can that you know relaxes / de-stresses you. I think that is above all else, any supplements etc.

It is so hard to relax, coronavirus is making everything ten times harder and more expensive. I am flying out next Sunday and I have to get a Covid test done within 72 hours of my flight departure, that alone is causing me so much stress and £. I live 3 hrs away from London and most of the clinics that do express Covid tests are in London. Oh and the flights, we could fly there direct before Covid for under £100 and 4 hrs, now it takes 8 hrs stopping somewhere and over £500 per ticket ☹️. Anyway thanks so much for your tip. I just needed to vent 🤣. Thanks for listening xx
No worries. Have you tried mindfulness? Or zoning out listening to some music you love? Bubbly baths? Reading a great book. Whatever it is, do all the things that help you relax xx

Sorry, not sure if you saw my reply but it doesn't seem to be here. We got 6 lovely fertilised eggs from our first de cycle. 2 were day 6. They don't grade them.
Cycle 1 we transferred 1 in December 2017 = bfn I then took 5 months off work to de-stress and re-centre myself. I was completely broken. Even though the clinic advised that still 1 in 3 chance with donor eggs. I had totally expected it to work.
Cycle 2 by Feb 2018 I was raring to go so we went ahead in March with 2 transferred.. we were over the moon and slightly scared when we got our very first ever bfp. Unfortunately it ended in an anembryonic pregnancy (empty sacs) and we had to medically manage the pregnancy. We were of course upset, but mostly so amazed that it was actually possible to get a positive. I had to wait a while for the drugs to come out of my system and then we were on holiday etc so the next transfer was October 2018.
Transfer 3 - 1 egg - decided to focus all the goodness and positivity into 1. Bfp and an amazing pregnancy with just a little reflux, no real sickness or aversions. Baby Angus arrived 2 weeks late on the 19th July 2019. Exactly 9 months after transfer day to the day!

Aww twins that lovely. My clinic won’t transfer two embryos so we won’t be having twins. Is your clinic in the uk or abroad? X
My clinic is in Greece. Where is yours? I think different countries have different laws about number of embryos that can be transferred. My clinic has 76% success rate with donor eggs. With transferring two we were told we had 20% chance of the two implanting and having twins. It was a tough decision but this was our last attempt so what the hell I just went for it. Both my embryo transfers with DE were frozen.
Second round transferred three (clinic abroad) - chemical pregnancy. Second round transferred four - currently 10w pregnant with one.
I was taken aback by the failure of that first cycle, but have since heard from many, that even egg donation isn't a 100% thing (obviously, I knew beforehand...but still...😉).
DH is 65, and a life-long smoker, I am sure that played a huge part in embryo quality...
Thanks for sharing your story, wow transferring three or four embryos! That’s amazing, my clinic will only transfer one at a time. I am on a guarantee live birth programme so I have to trust what they are doing. I would love to have twins but at 42 they say the risk is too high. I really hope I get a BFP first time as travelling during Covid is a nightmare. Everything takes twice a long to sort out and costs us three times as expensive (flights, hotels, Covid tests etc). Enjoy motherhood.xx
Took me three rounds but only worked after I measured and then increased my progestrone.
I will be on water based as well as oil based progesterone injections and a few more meds so hopefully it should be sufficient. Did you do it abroad? X
Yes I went to Greece. Please get your progestrone tested. I was taking a large dose and thought that was enough but not every woman absorbs progestrone sufficiently.

The clinic didn't encourage me to get progestrone checked. I has to fight for it. I never did it with my own eggs which I will always regret.
Are your currently pregnant or have you had your baby? It is tough having to give up using own eggs, but I feel totally ok about using DE now after months of thinking it through 🥰

We've had one round of egg donor, got 5 day 5 embryos and were lucky that the first transfer worked. The donor was in her twenties and I'm healthy but early 40s and lost tubes and one ovary removed due to ectopics. Husband is healthy and mid thirties. We're hoping to go back for a fet to try for a sibling

We're based in the UK but used a clinic in Prague, Fertility Port. Found them very helpful and professional. We sent ultrasound and blood test results in advance, then went for an in person consultation and had all remaining tests etc done and husband left a sample for freezing, then returned for embryo transfer.
They arrange the medication in the UK via fertility2u who can deliver it to your home. I had to organise hcg blood tests and scans and used medichecks for blood tests and a local scan facility.
We were lucky to get 11 eggs, 10 were mature and fertlised and five made it to good day 5 embryos. We have four more chances in the freezer.
All sounds so organised. It is wonderful to have four more embryos in the freezer. When are you planning to head back for your second baby? X
Hopefully in 4-6 months, don't want to leave it too long due to my age

Hey I think we’re going to have our DE transfer around the same time. Saw your reply above above Covid test. I’m also abroad for treatment and had to show a Covid test. Went to an NHS drive in clinic 48 hours before and the results came back 18 hours later. It’s free and I had the assisted test (someone does the swabbing for you) as if you get it wrong it can come back as inconclusive and I couldn’t risk that so close to departure.
It’s very very exciting to be so close to transfer but my brain is working over time analysing every minutiae of information which may make a difference. I think I’ve got to the point where I need to take a chill pill and relax, ha!

Oh that’s handy. Did the nhs test results come in an email or pdf format and did it have your names and the date/time of test on it? I need to be able to print if off and show iT to my airline/custom.

My donor is 28 so surely her eggs are much better than mine (I’m 42).
Both donors we used were 21 as the clinic we used specifically only use donors under age of 30 not 35 it took us we had 4 blasts from first donor , fresh failed , fet took but lost it , new round new donor fresh failed and the last two embryos resulted in twins. So four transfers in total
Should add took just over 2 years as we had a few breaks inbetween transfers
21 is such a super age. I remember when I was 21 and was trying so hard NOT to fall pregnant thEn 😅. And congratulations on your twins. Are you currently pregnant or have you had your babies already? Four transfers resulting in twins doesn’t sound too bad but I bet it was hard to have three failed rounds at that point. Good luck with your twins xxx

My twins are now nearly 17m old , they are fantastic hard work but fab.
The clinic we used also have fantastic matching skills I get told all the time how much one of the twins looks like me which makes me super super happy 😃
Yes both 21 with proven pregnancies I was very lucky to get such a young donor as you say most people at that age are trying to prevent.
It was hard when it kept failing but I already had a child whose now 11 so I knew I could get and stay pregnant it was just a case of my body catching up which it eventually did x
I would love to have twins but my clinic will only transfer one embryo at a time. So no chance of having twins for me. I have had other children too so I am surprised how hard it is this time. I guess it is all down to age. So I am hoping Using donor eggs Is the answer. I wish I had started having children when I was in my 20s. Hindsight is a wonderful thing 😅x
It is we started trying when I was 20/21 and I didn’t get pregnant till I was 25 had him when I was 26 and then several losses and then the DE twins at 35 had them at 36 I’m now 38 so everything happens for a reason I guess.
We were lucky our clinic allow 1 or 2 transferred depending on circumstances x

First FET with one embryo using DE got my BFP she is now 8 weeks old! We were super lucky - but our journey had been about 6 years.

Yes quite a few of the women who recommended my clinic got a BFP on the first go- I was convinced it wasn’t going to happen first time esp as I was super stressed with work during the cycle! All the best and keep us posted! X

None! I totally didn’t think it had worked! So try not to overthink if you can!! X
I won’t overthink and I won’t test early. That’s my approach this time round 🤞🏼🤞🏼Easier said than done though 🤣xx
